Well, I know this is very hard to read, but it’s just a reminder that June 1-3, the wearing of orange will place you in the millions of those who wish gun violence to stop. Mama won’t have any trouble as she wears orange all the time, but I’ll have to improvise.
I wish I had another orange type color, maybe a bit more red in it. Hmmm…maybe I could find it on the internet. You can find anything there! Just ask Mr. Google.
Mama has this way of getting Sergey (what we call Google because it was founded by Sergey Brin and Larry Page) to answer any and all questions she asks and she forms the questions as if she were talking to a real person.
As in “how many kitties can dance on the head of a pin”, things like that, although I’m not sure that’s really what she was after. That’s just an example. So if you want to know ANYTHING, just ask Google as if it were in conversation with you.
“Hey, Google, what was the name of that movie in (whatever year) starring (whatever kitty/actor/doggy) and in what town was it first shown?”
You can make your question as long and as complicated as you like. Imagine what we did before the internet!
Hey, mama, I want to take Puss ‘n Boots out of the library. Okay, Loulou, you come along in your traveling case (uh, oh, sorry I asked).
We drive to the library, some distance away. We go through the title cards or we ask the librarian and that person goes through the cards or maybe points us to somewhere in the children’s section. We go to the stacks of books. We look for the book. But, uh, oh, it’s not there because that bad kitty next door has checked it first out and NOT BROUGHT IT BACK ON TIME. Only one copy. So we talk to the librarian again about when it’s coming back. Oh, we’ll have to contact the one who checked it out and get back to you. We leave the library. No book. The wait will be, oh, a week or two, maybe forever. We drive back home (burning gas) by now it’s time for lunch but the trek started at 9am!
So, maybe old Google helped us out a bit there. Plus I don’t have to ride in a car in my cage! I’m using Amazon from now on….
The mom has used the library to get e-books on her Kindle. Maybe your mama could check to see if it’s available in an e format. Or resort to Amazon…it always has whatever you’re looking for.
We use Amazon and love it! I was just giving an example of how we USED to do things and how easy it is now to get books.
We use Amazon all the time. That library thing was just made up!
LouLou, there really are several books titled “Cats in the Belfry”
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=Cats+in+the+Belfry
I got the 1957 one at a used book sale. It’s pretty funny- all Meezers. As you can see, several are new mysteries.
Well, as usual, great news and thank you for the website! Love the title!
Wow, six books with Belfries! Ffascinating. I just made up the title for fun! Bet they are fun books to read.
“…will place you in the millions of those who wish gun violence to stop”.
The problem is: the thugs will always know where and how to get guns.
The honest citizens are thus supposed to face hatred and violence with their bare hands.
I hear what you are saying, but I’m wearing orange anyway, just because I can. We have to VOTE out the NRA thugs.
Hi Loulou, I too am a Kindle reader. Have been for many years now.
Light weight, high storage capacity, dictionary available at one click.
You can order and receive a book at any time of the day or night.
Perfect.
Or Purrfect if you prefere.
Yes, LOVE kindle, mama says. Personally, I read over shoulders so can read with anyone’s book, haha.
Sorry you didn’t get your book.
Oh, that was just an example. I’ve read Puss ‘n Boots before and now I’m looking for Cats in the Belfry (just made that up, haha).
Moral of the post: Always return a library book on time because you never know who will want to read it next. Right? 🙂
YES, thatisthe moral of checker-outers. But that was an imaginary example. I’m a kindle reader, much to the dismay of some. AND a book reader, so don’t worry. Books rule.
And if you have an e-reader it is even faster than Prime ! (Except I do not have wireless, so I have to go to a library, a McDonald’s, etc etc.)
Prime is pretty quick, but if you have a library, you have two good sources!
