Oh, boy, are we thankful on Thursday for this guy! These two guys, I should say!
When mama saw this article and of course she went bonkers at how HUGE this magnificent tortoise is and how lovingly he is cared for at the Governor’s home.
Mama has a thing for turtles ever since she visited the turtle refuge near our little town in France. We would have put in a link but they are closed for winter and the link did not function! It is called The Turtle Valley (La Vallée des Tortues) and perhaps the link will work in spring, haha.
And here is another…er…interesting comment on Johnathan.
GOOD FOR HIM!
Would that all creatures could have such care and protection and long lives.
So today we are thankful for all of the animals who have been saved, along with Johnathan.
And thankful for the kindness of caretakers. Mine love their jobs…
There’s a pet store that the mom goes to that has a tortoise living there. It walks around the store greeting customers. 🙂 You look like you’re enjoying your belly rub, Loulou. ~Ernie
Yes, well, b rubs are the BEST. I never turn them down! Makes my waist slimmer…
What a heartwarming story, Loulou, and happy to see that Johnathan is still at it – ha ha ha.
Oh, you baaad girl. So funny and yes, more power to him, and anyone at this age, haha.
Turtles are interesting creatures, and tortoises even more so. We have one in our local zoo, he is quite old, and can live longer even that peeps!
One of my friends collects turtles…not the real ones, though, LOL!
Enjoy your belly rubs! Us pups love those too:)
Oh, to rub a pup! Mama would LOVE that but she does see Mya every now and then and rub her. We have a friend who collects owls, not real ones, haha.
Mamma had a turtle named Clarabelle as a child. And a birdie and a doggie. We always had pets! A good thing – and now we have Mya! Mamma came to France with 2 dogs and a cat. They were old. Now we have Mya (the rescue doggie)!!
Oh, Mya, your cute-i-tude has rescued us often!
I love turtles. I had two for years. And I want to rub that tummy of yours. XO
Well, my tummy misses your rubs, Ellen.
We love turtles and tortoises. Thanks for sharing !
They seem to be so calm, taking their time against the hares of the world.
Love your photos today LouLou! What a sweet article and I agree, caretakers are so precious.
Well, we loved the tortoise and so glad you did, too.
Saving all living things is a good thing. Tell mom I’m with her on this.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday, LouLou. My best to your mom. ♥
Thank you, Sandee, and her best back to you!
We are always happy when someone helps the critters in need Loulou! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Oh, we love to hop with you. As you know…
Look at you, Loulou!
I adore the top photo, but am betting you prefer the bottom photo, when you are getting a tummy rub.
All creatures deserve our help, since we are the one’s who are messing up the planet.
As for loading YouTube speed; sorry, I have no insight.
I just go to the my channel, click on ‘load video’, and it all happens in a minute or two.
Hope your anthros/peeps figure it out; we’d like to see Loulou in action!
Well, mama has a channel for her two videos of baking and cooking so I guess that’s what we shall use. Thank you! We have a very slow internet here in the sticks.
THANK you for the advice. See my other comment.
Jonathan is amazing! He sure has seen a lot of life and now he’s living such a wonderful life on that island with his friends. I’m glad he’s being watched closely and that when he has a problem humans help him with whatever he needs. May be live on and on and on! That photo of you on your Mama’s lap getting a nice tummy rub is perfect Loulou……what a life huh??
Hugs, Teddy
Oh, those rubs. Yes, there’s the rub, haha. And glad you liked old J, what a guy! Er…tortoise.
