Tangled up in the red tape of Republican vs Democratic dissention in government
The following is my response to an excellent It’s Noodle post:
As always, I agree with all you say and I have written previously about the having of guns and the semi-automatic weapons that seem to grace the closets of too many Americans, weapons that can become automatic in the blink of purchase at a gun store!
The solutions are clear to help eradicate armouries in American homes, but the f……..g Republicans (apologies for the language) are stopping any attempt at longer and more thorough background searches, pricing on bullets (I heard that somewhere before, I think a comedian, Chris Rock, $1000 per bullet would do it) and strict prison sentences for those who unlawfully use a gun or any firearm.
Unfortunately, our prisons are bursting and ill-kept, prisoners are abused, and in short, we are not the model for incarceration success.
What is frustrating is to have no finite answers to our horrendous problem in America and no help from our elected governors. I don’t know if you saw The New York TImes front page editorial, the first since the 20s, condemning our gun-wielding nation and chastising the politicians roundly. Good for the NYT!
And thank you again, Noodle, for your excellent post.
Pondering solutions…
I agree totally with you Lou Lou – when and how is it going to end? If only kitties were in charge…..
Aaaaaaw LouLou we do hate red tape. We hope you have a blest day.
