Well, today I just felt like giving you good news and so here is today’s sweet story.
I think sometimes we just need a Good News jolt to brighten up our lives and know more about our wonderful world through others’ sweet stories.
If this post is too schmaltzy, you can tell me, I won’t mind, but some days I just love to think about all the goodness that’s mixed in with all that other stuff we won’t mention.
And by the way, mama has fallen in love with the author, Jane Gardam, though another book that she’s going to read WITH me when she gets back. It’s called The Hollow Land and she says that at the end, she cried and her heart felt really, really good and she went out and got three more Jane Gardam books for Kindle so that she won’t run out too soon.
I love to read with mama. I think books are like really good food, maybe chocolate, but oh, so nourishing to my spirit.
I think the next one ought to be MY pick and I’m choosing this one:
Although, I’m not so sure that ‘practical’ applies to all kitties. I certainly know some impractical ones!!!
T. S. Elliot really knew kitties, and of course his poems were the inspiration for the musical, Cats, which is wonderful if you ever get a chance to see it.
Mama said she would take me, but she was worried I might want to run away with the cast…
Hey, they all look like kitties to ME!
I try to smile even when I snooze…
TODAY IS NATIONAL TABBY CAT DAY (I’ll give in to this, even if I am NOT yellow!)
And here is Fiat, mama’s first love…
From this (above)…..
to THIS! Holy tamale. Well, guys do grow bigger, I guess.
Fiat was a fine specimen of a tabby cat. He’s almost as handsome as me. 😉 ~Wally
I hate to say this, Wally, but you really are a bit more handsome. Fiat was a bit tough looking, but hey, he was an alley cat and street smart!
Aaaaaaw LouLou, we think there oughtta be just good days too. Dat’s one of da reasons we do a weekly Blest Sunday posty. We’s not know what shmaltzy is tho’. As fur tabbies, sis Lexi was a tabby patterned Egyptian Mau and me be a Lynx point, which is fancy talk fur tabby patterned. MOL Dat’s what they call fancy kitties with stripes. MOL You look just luvvly.
Luv ya’
Dezi
When I read your blog, Dezi, I always feel more positive than before. Schmaltzy (I misspelled it in the other blog) means sentimental, teary about things that are moving, etc.
you have the best smile Loulou,xx Speedy
Well, that little rabbit smile is pretty cute, too!
Mom says she hasn’t heard of that author but will check her out. T.S. Eliot’s book is one of her favorites, and she loved the musical, Cats. Smiling in your sleep means you are dreaming of wonderful things, like chasing mousies and eating all the treats you want. Flat was a gorgeous tabby. We have three angel tabbies in our family. Thanks so much for hopping with us. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo, thank YOU for making us “hop”!!! What does XOCK stand for? Mama is hopeless with initials.
He sure is a big guy, but you’re a girl, Loulou, so petite is a nice size for you.
We kitties don’t understand why humans like to read books that make them cry. Do you?
Well, when mama cries over a book, it’s because it has touched her heart somewhere and she feels emotion. But no, I did NOT cry kitty tears over Puss in Boots!!!
I love tabby cats, I have 2. I love all cats though. I got to see CATS in NYC before it closed.
OH, CATS in NYC was probably the best. Mama saw it in Century City at the Shubert and mama was just sitting there watching and she felt a paw on her shoulder and a (large!) kitty/cast member was stroking mama’s shoulder and mama turned around and almost jumped out of her seat. It was SO cool.
That is very cool.
Thanks for visitin’. Mama just got back from Texas and so ‘visitin’ is in our language for a few weeks. As in, y’all come back now, y’heah, and visit with us.
