See, I told you it would be better today! This is our open market in our little ville, just waiting for you to walk through it’s stalls and meet some very, very nice people. Trump couldn’t come.
The two musicians below entertain all morning, with brilliant guitar (on the left) and rhythm guitar and singing (on the right). You have not heard anything until you hear “Walkin’ My Baby Back Home” with a French twist! I’ll try to get mama to get a video next time.
Our ‘little’ bread stand. Eric, the baker, famous among our towns.
The artist, Olivier, also famous here in southern France.
One of many satiric and beautifully executed designs. See the matador and the bull on the right walking away together, arms around each other.
The sausage man with wild boar salame and so many, many others. The French love their charcuterie (cured meats, among manyothers).
A colourful shopper.
I think pink is big right now.
But not in the tomato world!
Fresh violet garlic, to go with your tomatoes. Milder and sweeter than when dried.
Small, sweet melons from seeds of Cavaillon, the melon capital in Provence.
Violettes artichokes to go with the garlic!
The sewing center where mama searches for things for me to chase!
Oh, there she goes. DOGGIES AGAIN. Getting a free ride, if you ask me.
Oh, no, another one. This time being CARRIED! Don’t these doggies have LEGS?
Now we’re talkin’. CHEESE!!!
But where is the goat?
Champignons, mushrooms, for pizza tonight. Mama can’t remember their name but will. Eventually.
Carrots, grown in organic sand–the latest fad. Actually, they are pretty good. Very sweet. Even I eat them.
All kinds of potatoes, the staple of French cooking. That, and a little cream…but only a little.
Organic lettuces, just picked.
And now at home for our salad!
One of our sweet vendors. Always smiling.
Young and old come out for market day, but time to head home.
That was one heck of a walk. I am beat!
Dreaming of that goat cheese…hmm…wonder if they left it out?
I am so in love with the French markets, especially the flowers and old linens. I think a picture of you would be so pretty taken on an old linen pillow case, we can all use a bit of the Old Aristo in our lives.(Well, speaking for myself) : }
I am jealous that Mya has written you. Must you get ALL the attenion?????
Mais oui, bien sur I know Anne, as she is my cousine. I have been to Nice to visit and have seen her beautiful palais. I want one just like it.
Take care little Loulou. Hugs.
Hey, mama just sent you my photo sprawled on one of her finds in the market. Hope it’s arriving easily….the photo, not the sheet.
WELL, Loulou – why doesn’t that t-shirt man have OUR photos on his models instead of those silly animals (imagine a giraffe or a donkey in a tee-shirt!) Harrumph. Bisous.
Hey, I’ll talk to him. He’s a good friend and I’ve never thought about asking him for a LOULOU shirt!!!
Oh, how meowvolous all those flowers and veggies and fruits looked. Mom said this post was a feast for the eyes. Thanks for sharing. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
It is such a treat to visit this market on Wednesdays and Sundays. And there is a rotisserie man with oh-so-good chickens and such…
It is all so very beautiful. I cannot imagine, such a market right in our own little village. And I love the ribbons. Enjoy it for us. Love, Chloe and Kit
Mama and I and papa too, of course, think of you often in open markets!
You do have a colorful market there. Interesting people and foods. you really eat carrots Loulou?
I have carrots and green beans in my food from Purina. Maybe because it’s done in France, haha. Also other veggies.
What a lovely place, thank you for the tour.
Well, you are welcome and there is more to come!
What a delightful open market!
Yes, and that was only a fraction of it. The one on Sunday is incredible. I’ll post another few shots after Sunday. And everything is so cheap! Well, compared to the USA that is.

Welll, I wish you were here to enjoy them. We are really lucky to have farmers nearby who bring in all those goodies. And mama bakes our bread.
I’m trying to leave a comment to see if it disappears after having written it, as a reader said it did to her.
Well, mama your comment was fine. Don’t know the problem.
