Oh, I didn’t know Jamison but we are sending out love to his family and friends.
*****
Well, mama has been meandering around our little wintery ville and taking photos of what is NOT going on. In winter here, there is very little to do and there are no tourists and no shops open and really only the supermarket (small), a couple of restaurants and a bar on our side of town. Oh, also the newsstand, they are always open.
No signs of life…
But mama is looking for good news, not bad, and so she doesn’t always stop there. Plus she gets news on her IPad each morn from the NYT, the Guardian, an Italian paper and of course all sorts of emails full of nice friend-type news. Phoebe the earthquake-adopted-kitty (below sleeping happily in new home) is doing very well in Suffolk where she was sent to be with her new mama. Mama’s sister-in-law’s bird feeder is being guarded carefully by a neighbourhood kitty–things like that.
Watch that feeder, Kitty (yes, her name is Kitty).
So I guess that’s the winter news around here. Hey, it’s better than earthquakes, floods, terrorism, city violence and more.
Oh, and there are hundreds of lovely fragrant lemons on our tree.
That’s all for now. If it snows around here, I’ll have ALOT to say about that!
Pretty bare around here, but so many more places to have one’s toilette! DON’T LOOK!

Hello there LouLou! Tu as tres belle!
Those are big trees in your village! Do you get to climb them? You are lucky to get to go outside. I bet you have a green thumb and bring magic to your garden.
I DO help mama around the roses with my toilette….they seem to grow bigger afterwards, haha. Thank you for visiting. Merci.
OMC Ya’ll have Lemons!!!! Those look amazin’ LouLou. Mommy luvs lemons. She used to have a tree, but it never gave her anythin’. MOL You’re lookin’ bootyful as always. Big hugs
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
We have so many lemons mama gives them away to neighbors and others. Can’t send them through the mail…sigh.
Almost as quiet here in Port-Vendres – but lucky you with the garden!! Papa takes me out for walks for my golden moments (oops) and yesterday we all took a long walk and the wind almost blew maman into the harbor!! Papa had me on the leash and i thought i was going to be flying like a kite!!
Oh well, its those winds that blow away the clouds and make those beautiful, sunny days so we won’t complain. Well, maybe just a whine or two.
Oh, MYA, I love the idea of you as a Mya kite!!! How incredibly cute. You could fly over to our little town and mama could put a string on me and fly me, too!
Sometimes quite is good. We hope you enjoy the winter solitude before things get noisy again.
Yes, quiet and reflection and looking at one’s inner self, whatever that is…
We were sad to see what happened to Jamison.
Very cute kitties. And I won’t look at what you are doing outside silly LouLou.
Oh, thank you for your politesse! My toilette is tres prive’…
You do live in a small town! Here we thought it was always exciting because so many things are going on. Guess you’ll be happy to see the tourists return when it warms up.
Does it ever snow there?
Well, yes and no. And yes, small as in 2000 people!!! I know Thomaston is bigger than that, no?
Wow! That is a small town. Yep, we’re bigger than that.
Well, in winter it seems even smaller because everyone is indoors keeping warm!!! So much for southern France and sun.
I really must emigrate, your neck of the woods looks divine. Quiet is our thing so we could do with that every day, at least for some of the year. purrsERin
Oh, Erin, you would love it here. Maybe take a trip to check it out first. A dead winter with high winds and no people is not everyone’s gig. But we love it.
Things do look quiet there! Love the cat guarding the bird feeder … that’s a smart cat.
Yeah, well those birdies need guarding, that’s for sure. You never know when a PREDATOR might sneak up on them….
