Well, my blog today has absolutely nothing to do with Appalachian history, but I found out about paw-paws by taking these shots of my…er…paws, and thought a little history might be of interest to everyone. I also was not really clear on what a paw-paw is, but now I know more than I’d ever want to about them! What was fun was hearing the song done by little anthros, very cute. And if it looks a bit, well, out of date, so be it. Mama remembers songs like this from her childhood so it can’t really be TOO out of date. I think.
But, my take on paw-paws is a little different and mama goes bonkers when she sees me doing ANYTHING with mine. Like this.
Paw de deux
Rabbit feet
Tail tickler
Supporting role
Dreaming of dragons
Three’s a crowd!
Cleopawtra’s Sphinx
Claw confusion
Taking a break
Uh, oh, think I’ll end on this one…
You have some really cute paws LouLou. Mommy luvs our paws too. She says we do da cutest things with ’em. big hugs fur all.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
I think I am of the rabbit family, but they have swept that info under the carpet….
LOL – oh Loulou, you really let Papa know when you’d had enough of those puss ‘n boots shots!!!! Well that could be a whole series with leather and whips? But these paw-paw images are beautiful! My paws are so boring, maybe I can talk maman to paint my toenails? But papà would have a hissy-fit. But maybe that’s what cats have – just heard it once in conversation!!?? I think it’s southern.
WOW, MYA, you with polish? I like that idea a lot. Then you can do mine, haha. At least I can hide them if I need to…
I could just look at adorable paws forever!!!
Oh, you are just like mama. She goes crazy over my paws because she says they look like rabbit paws.
Your paws are adorable I love those little pink toe beans 🙂
TOE BEANS….how utterly cute that is!
Oh Gees, LouLou, I thought you were going to tell us about the pawpaws found in Australia – you call them papayas here in the States, but in Aussie land we have a much larger, and more bland tasting, tree fruit.
What great paw paws! The mom has a paw fetish and wanted to grab yours. Thank cod there is a computer screen between her and your paws.
YES, and thank heaven for ME!!! But mama would probably like to grab yours, too.
I know the song you refer to, LouLou – very cute tie-in to your lovely paws !
My personal peculiar fruit is the Kumquat, but I don’t know how that would tie in with a kitty.
Oh, mama had kumquat bushes in California but she only ate the skin because the insides were so sour. Our neighbors here have many kumquat bushes and they are always giving us big bags of them.
Okay, what’s a paw paw? obviously not your paws she was putting in her pocket. We’re curious.
http://www.seriouseats.com/2014/09/what-are-pawpaws-wild-fruit-midwest-how-to-prep-and-eat-pawpaws.html is a good place to see what they are. Strange fruit with strange seeds. Mostly grow in the south so I’m wondering if there are some in Georgia?
