This is my Valentine rub from papa. And below, mama’s Valentine breadstick for him.
Well, it’s Valentine’s Day, and I entered a contest on a lovely blog to write a love letter and did not win but was honourably mentioned and here it is. The winning letter was WONDERFUL on the noir kitty blog. Such a sweet contest. I’m thinking about writing more love letters on any day of the year, just for the fun of it! I’m sure I have one in me to papa and mama, and I certainly have thoughts all the time about my friend, Mya, and I hate to admit this, but that Funny Farm’s Marcus sort of has my heart, and he is a DOGGY!
Oh, well. Adaptability is what you need when you age…that, and trying to be loose as a goose about so many things.
No where did THAT phrase come from? Don’t worry. I went to look it up and it would have taken all day to find the right answer. I’m sure Google will help you there. I think it has to do with loosey-goosey, those rhyming words that just sounded good and now everyone says, loose as a goose. Probably geese are not loose at all but uptight ofays.
But back to Valentine’s. Papa asked mama out to dinner but they decided (as they do almost every year…duh) that restaurants will be packed and service will be slow and food will be cookie-cutter, whatever that means and so I think they are making a nice fire and just having a bowl of mama’s pasta with fish eggs and toast themselves and other good friends and say, Happy Valentine’s and Happy Anniversary to one another and see a good movie on TV. Sounds wild, right? But I think he has plans for Friday, when NO one is going out for Heart Day. Smart cookie, my papa.
Hey, around here, we are a relaxed group…suits ME just fine. Now, if they would just make me a cracker with those fish eggs on it…
BUT WAIT, THERE IS MORE TODAY: THIS IS A TRUE VALENTINE’S GIFT TO YOU THAT WE RECEIVED FROM MYA’S MAMA:
Your Mama did a great job. Happy Belated Valentine’s Day LouLou!
Thank you, she loves making breadsticks in shapes. If only she could do a kitty.
Your papa had a wonderful idea ! It looks like you had a great Valentine’s Day ! Purrs
Yes, he’s good at that.
It sounds like you and your humans had a good Valentine’s Day, Loulou. Our humans did go out to dinner, but they went to one of their favorite restaurants and their meals were as good as always. 🙂
Well, mama and papa should have gone out with YOU guys. But they are going Friday to their favourite place that was going to be packed on the 14th.
OMG – these Love-Letters were ALL so beautiful!!!!!!!! How did they choose, since they were ALL THE BEST? My, maman is all teary-eyed now – thinking about her kitty-loves. Taaka, the Russian Blue (since Taaka was the only name in Russian maman knew since it was on the vodka bottle in the kitchen……….Taaka lived a long time and was so sweet and smart. Then there was Sassy (sometimes called Assassin because of her sometimes wicked temperament). She was a New Orleans kitty who became a French kitty (got HER French passport long before maman did!!) and lived to 23. We used to joke she was so disagreeable the kitty rainbow just preferred she stay here. SO many naughty, hilarious stories maman could tell. But there’s not room. Well, just know, Taaka and Sassy, you girls are missed.
SO, OK Loulou – I love your garden TOO – just save me a few of those little tomatoes that I love to sneak!! You lucky kitty. Valentine Day Love form your doggie-pal.
Oh, how I wish I had known those bad kitties! Sassy, especially. But all of your nice family members seem to have been or ARE just adorable. That means YOU, MYA. And your papa, of course.
Sounds like your humans have the right idea. Slow service, cookie-cutter food AND no cats? That’s no way to spend a day devoted to love! Hope you get a bite of something sweet.
Jean from Welcome to the Menagerie
I did not get anything but snuggles all day long, and frankly, a girl needs her beauty sleep!!!
Our humans never go out on holidays for the reasons you mentioned. Mom is making Osso Buco and Dad is making risotto. Loulou, your letter was so sweet. Wish we’d known about this contest as Mau, Lisbeth and Astrid have written poems for their sweethearts. Sorry we’ve been missing lately. Happy Valentine’s Day. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
Oh, mama makes risotto alla Milanese for her ossobuco, too. Would love to compare recipes, she says.
Oh Loulou- happy Valentine’s Day to you and your family ! It is lovely to have friends around the world !
Yes, it is and the world is getting smaller by the hour.
Your Papa IS smart!!! A nice cozy dinner at home (I don’t like “cookie-cutter” either and I KNOW what that means) 😉 It is perfect to say in all cozy and celebrate that way and save the other celebrating for the weekend! Love the heart shaped breadsticks! Happy Valentine’s Day!!
Thank you. Mama gave me a little bit of a breadstick and I actually ATE it. Kibble wins.
We would never have thought to write a love letter to our garden, but then Jan has a black thumb so we don’t actually have one, but if we did it had better have lots and lots of nip! Happy Valentine’s Day to you all, especially to your crafty papa. 🙂
Well, I could have written one to Marcus but I didn’t want Buddy to feel bad or any other others. And my garden is a garden of delights.
Merci beau coup! Very funny video! Thank you for sharing and happy Valentine’s Day!
I LOVED that doggy. Mama is practicing her ventriloquism as we speak, so to speak.
Sounds like a wonderful plan your papa had LouLou. And we luvved your mommy’s breadstick. You know us and bread. MOL We hope your day is filled with lots of luv and extra cuddles. Big hugs fur all.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
Oh, Dizi and Raena Belle, I’m so glad you liked mama’s creation. They are fun to make, too. I actually helped her…well, not exactly but I TOLD her where to bend the dough and things like that.
