Well, as you can clearly see, I am having a grand old time rolling around on my favourite gravel to scratch my back out here in the sun. My kitty sitter sent this to mama and of course, she probably shed a tear or two, missing me more than ever. We go into the garden together, but of course mama doesn’t roll around on her back every time. Still, she could keep me company every now and then, and be on a roll together, HAHA.
Mama is on a culture binge and sent me some pics of things in the Modern Art Museum in Rome, known as GNAM, which I am pleased to share with you. The show is a mixture of new artists thrown in with the permanent collection of those from long ago, many from the 1700-1800s. My favourite is this big kitty outside! Mama wanted to pet it but a guard was watching…just as well. Those pets are reserved for ONE kitty. One guess?
And this was the dress and gloves that a model wore for a video that one can listen to and watch, which started with a model putting on this dress and gloves inside a sort of cage-like thing and then about a dozen German Shepherds came in with their masters and surrounded her and she starting singing opera and the dogs starting howling along with her….I think I might have passed on that one.
Hey, it’s art.
Uh, oh, papa is so baaaaad…
Now this piece has real backbone!
A very old Modigliani was one of the paintings in the nudes room. And this lovely nymph in marble.
Hey, maybe this one will get your goat, haha.
At least, I think that’ s a goat…
Now THIS I can understand. Those are old car parts. Clever, eh?
It would have been fun to be with them at the museum, but I’m not sure kitties are allowed. Why do doggies have all the fun. All you need is a leash and voila’, you’re in like Flynn, whoever he is.
Still, I’ll fight for my independence any day.

BOLT, missing from last post, sorry!!!
We guess art is in the eye of the beholder. 🙂 Enjoy your gravel, Loulou.
There was a card that mama loved years ago with a hunky guy on the front and it said, This is Art. Inside it said, I don’t know much about Art but I know what I like!
Oops – part deux – And Bolt the Turtle – adorable!!!! Is that delicious lettuce leaf being aromatized (a word?) surrounded by parsley. What a gourmet paradise!!!!
Oh, but another story is coming up!
Loulou, mama is oooohing and ahhhing over the art – she loves the goat back-scratcher and the idea of the opera singer and the chorus of german shepherds – I could help maybe? – I can practice my howl!! And what was she wearing underneath, eh papa – teehee – !!?? And that big lizard thingy – that would scare the beejesus outta me. Or maybe it’s one of those huge florida alligators (an albino one) – ? Missing you Loulou – wish I was there in your garden and I can hear papa singing already “gratta gratta gratta ma jolie bambina” to us both – what he sings to me when I scratch the bedspread trying to make my nest. Well, hey I am a terrier after all.
Oh, to hear your papa singing that!!!!
Little Kitty,
Thank you for the lovely post.
I enjoyed the pictures from the museum very much.
I also enjoyed the MENTAL picture of Mommy rolling around on her back with you, so out of character I am thinking…….TeeHee.
Take care.
Love,
Sandra
Sandra, Mya’s mama says we MUST MEET. Hope that happens.
I am hoping to come over at some point.
I am in love with France and Italy.
I miss seeing my delightful cousin, I want to meet Loulou and you, you are both so pretty.
Love,
Sandra
Well, we’re back in France in August and September but we move around a lot. Love your cousin!!!
Your papa did WHAT? In a museum? 🙂
Oh, there he is. it’s nice to meet Bolt.
Well, Jan, you know how male anthros are. He was funnin’…I think he saw some very sexy wire supports and a wood frame.
Great art, but photos of you are my favorites. I was thinking of your Mama yesterday when reading Peter Gether’s latest book which included a recipe for fava bean dip. I know your Mama loves those beans.
Just made a note to tell mama about Peter Gether. Yes, she LOVES fava beans. Maybe we’ll post a recipe for vignarola, the springtime dish of Rome.
Very interesting art. At first look I thought that was a REAL cat, and then that the dress was a lamp shade. Whew – time to get new glasses !
My limited knowledge of gardening seems to indicate that you don’t want your lettuce to “bolt” either. Whatever that is.
FUNNY. Yes, you do NOT want bolted lettuce, which means it suddenly grows upward and makes seed pods as its time is over, but you can let that dry out and it will re-seed itself.
