Just practicing on elastic for when I CATCH THAT RAT!!!
Well, the poor little Bolt may have to go to a turtle reserve, much like the one near our little town called Vallee des Tortues, which is a wonderful place to visit (the day mama and papa took the little anthros, it was mating season–a lesson for all when you think about turtles and how they make more!).
But mama thinks a low frame with hinged top made of good strong mesh would take care of Bolt and he could graze and splash in a little shallow bowl and not worry about predators. We’ll see. If the vet feels it’s okay, then maybe we have a go-ahead.
If I were there I would keep watch for that ratty rat and he name would be FANGO (mud, in Italian).
More on Bolt’s plight later….
I’d give that rat what-for!!! POW! POW!
Aw, poor Bolt. He might like it at the preserve…at least he’d be safe from the rat.
And he may find a mate, too. Unlike poor Jeremy, the snail, who is still looking, I’m afraid!
Hmmmm, Loulou – it seems that if Bolt had the choice to decide his own fate – what would he do? Guantanamo in a hinged box with a bowl of water? Or a lifetime membership to Club Med complete with lake (or sea?) and food and AMORE – ? Voila.
On the other hand that rat was a bad dude and we must plot revenge………
Mama said for the kids to get a pet rat who would be friends with BOLT, bigger than the bad one, just might take care of the bad one, heh, heh.
Poor Bolt, we hope he will be okay.
He lost a few ‘fingers’….he is in safety for the summer but in fall will get a large cage, I think.
How sweet of you to be concerned for Bolt. We hope he will be okay and he will be able to live in peace from now on. Have you ever met him or is he a new addition?
I have not yet met him because he’s in Rome and I’m…well…you know. At home. But I get mama’s photos of him and he is so, so cute.
We know you are not in the same place at the moment, but you have been to Rome before. That’s why we asked if you’ve met him or if he’s a new addition. Evidently, he’s a new addition. 🙂
Ah, scusame, yes, I know you know that I’ve been in Roma, and yes, he is a new addition, but I’m not sure he or may be a she but for sure he is a turtle, haha. They are all devastated by the attack, but a blogger says that rats do not normally attack turtles. Hmmm…
I hope Bolt can get well and stay safely in his own garden. It is nice to know there are Turtle Sanctuaries so he can have safety if he needs it.
I know, isn’t that great? He is an endangered species type of turtle, and I’ll find out about that.
