Well, I’ve been rollin’ around on these kiwi leaves that mama cut yesterday. You have to take off the long runners so the fruit will develop and not be robbed of flavour, whatever that is. This kiwi thing is a new high, so to speak…
I wish I knew what’s in this stuff. Hey, now we know!!!
I have to say, my nip bed looks pretty tame compared to this! But papa thinks I get too mellow if I’m allowed too much. Isn’t that the point, papa?
Just starting to grow…
and now!
HEY, WAIT A MINUTE! How do YOU know what it’s like to get…er…affected by this stuff?
Don’t answer…I’ll let my imagination run wild, haha.

Today’s very important news. You don’t have to read this, but I feel that all of us need to know these facts, especially those who are not wealthy and not in good health. So many have problems with maintaining good health, but it comes, often, at a ridiculous price. Read on.
How much is this going to cost me?
Kiwi looks purrty good Lulu
Well, it’s like double whammy nip.
Those kiwi leaves are amazing!
Think of all the kitties who could roll in those!
Merci Loulou – a VERY good article at the end that EVERYONE needs to be aware of. And a BIG sigh of relief every day from mama that she is french now and is into a humane health care system and with HUGE hopes after the Agent Orange reign (sorry, mama has some very rude nicknames for the pres) the US will adopt a system as sensible and compassionate as the rest of the First World. Voila – enough about politics – Loulou, we have to concoct a recipe for Kiwicello!!!!! Think of the fun we would have, teehee!!!!!!
WOW–mama makes sorbet and it’s pretty good; just kiwis (peeled, haha, of course), lemon or lime juice, sugar and a touch of vanilla. If you want a creamier texture you can add a spoon of brebis yogurt but if you freeze the kiwis with all the ingredients, just in chunks and when ready to eat, let them unthaw a bit and then frappe them up in the food processor into sorbet. Eat quickly.
The kiwis look great, you sure have a lot.
We give them away around December and there are still too many left over but oh, so good and they freeze for sorbets or just to put on toast!
Mom and I need to learn about moderation that is for sure! Love, Cody
Wha??? Moderation? Hey, I just WRITE about it — I don’t DO it! Don’t feel alone. Especially when it comes to things like tuna salad or tomatoes with olive oil. Mama is hard to stop.
Moderation just ate my comment, which advised “moderation in all things.” Can you get too mellow ? The facts are interesting – in your column and in the article referred to.
The ripening kiwis look like figs. Are they related ? Some of my school friends DID appear to be addicted to Fig Newtons.
Now my computer is eating MY messages. No not related to figs at all. Kiwis stand on their on.
tion in all things,” I guess.
OH, love the tion in all things”, I guess.
I saw the rest of your message, thank you.
P.S. Right. We just remembered that you’re actually living in France, not the US. Sorry for womansplaining!
Don’t be sorry. But what is womansplaining? A great concept but I think I am missing something. Too many kiwi leaves, maybe.
Mansplaining – men explaining the world.
Wikipedia:
Mansplaining is a portmanteau of the word man and the informal form splaining of the verb explaining and means “to explain something to someone, characteristically by a man to woman, in a manner regarded as condescending or patronizing”.
Lily Rothman of The Atlantic defines it as “explaining without regard to the fact that the explainee knows more than the explainer, often done by a man to a woman”,and feminist author and essayist Rebecca Solnit ascribes the phenomenon to a combination of “overconfidence and cluelessness”.
WOW–I guess mama has never run into that, thank heaven. Except for a professor friend who mansplains often to men AND women, such as items that everyone learned as babies! So funny and thank you for the splaining.
Oh wow, kiwis – very exotic for us. That’s what we love about the blogging community – you get to know more about so many different areas, and we all have a different background.
Thank you for informing on health reforms – it doesn’t affect us as we’re living outside the US, but it was still interesting to read. The American health care system is often discussed in Europe, and it was interesting to read an American source / debate instead of an European point of view.
Well, the New York Times would not have been around for such a long run if it were not a reliable source with extremely good researchers. I’m glad you looked at the article and only wish more would…Fox News is not where objective research is to be found.
