I know, I know, you must be getting tired of these look-alikes, but mama really couldn’t resist THIS one.
A Papillon (butterfly), see below, and mixed with who knows what, but that little devil is deception personified. Mama said, “Oh, you cute little adorable thing, oh, you little mignonne doggy” and the doggy’s tale wagged and she looked as if she were going to roll over but that feisty little creature bared her teeth at papa and mama and starting barking like a Doberman!!! You can’t tell a doggy from its silly little grin, that’s for sure. Grrrrrrr was all mama got and serves her right. “She’s a great watchdog”, her owner said, too late. You don’t want to explain losing your finger to a PAPILLON!
I mean, does this look like a doggy you can goo-goo and ga-ga over? Of course she does! Oh yeah? Just don’t put your hand anywhere near this monster.
Oh, yeah, right. Look nonchalant as if you are an innocent little creature. You wouldn’t fool ME, you little devil doggy.

On a lighter note, just for kitties. Here is our local fish market getting ready for Bastille Day on the 14th:
I am drooling all over my computer! And the prices are great, too. Evidently there are still a few fish in the sea, thank heaven.
Mama brought home wild salmon and poached it. I mean she didn’t STEAL it, haha, she cooked it in a broth of wine, water, carrot, celery and onion and made a rice salad and sautéed Pimientos de Padron, little sweet peppers from Spain cooked until charred and then sprinkled with salt.
More drooling. Have to go take my bath…
Looks can be deceiving, can’t they, Loulou! But we know you would never growl at your mama and papa, so they should stick to telling you what a sweet girl you are, right! 🙂
Well, yes, Jan, you hit it on the noggin. I roll over and stretch and move around in sensual fashion and am NOT a snapping papillon, whatever that is. Thank you for being so observant.
I bet you would like to visit that market LouLou 🙂
Well, I did get a bit of sardine from the grill that night. WONDERFUL.
Have to tell you LouLou that dog IS a cutie! So cute! And…….Mama’s dinner sounded WONDERFUL! I’m coming over for Bastille Day!!
Oh dear, LouLou, I’m glad your Mama didn’t get bitten ! One of my vets shows Papillons and after one of her champions retired she brought her into the office one day. A nice little dog – I patted her and asked her name : “Kitty” So you can imagine the vet out calling her dog from the yard…
The fish market – very tempting. Hope you have a safe and sane Bastille Day. I caught part of the press conference on NPR – but just Mr Macron’s part.
Oh, that is FUNNY. Here, Kitty, Kitty and a little dog shows up. I hope it lived up to its name.
Uh oh. Sorry to hear that you’re also facing severe enemies!
We’ve a similar problem over here. A very dangerous street gang has hijacked our backyard , now know as Death Zone. Even humans are too afraid to go to our garden!
Maybe this watchdog could come over? We’d really need one.
Are you talking about an invasion of Papillon doggie???? WOW. I really didn’t know they were so fierce. I only know nice ones and this one was an anomale.
Oh no, gulls hijacked our backyard. But still.
OH, gulls are awful and in Nice, napped a kitty off a balcony but she was found some distance away, dropped among trees and safe. Still……
