Mama tells me to floss every day but this doesn’t look at ALL like the thing THEY use! Is there a mistake here, mama? And what’s that smell of chicken in the kitchen? NO, NO, don’t put the wine in yet, or I can’t have any!!!
Is that a myth or a reality? If meats are cooked with wine a long time, can kitties have a bite or not?
And if the broth is cooked with carrots and onions and celery, can kitties have a sip?
I’d love to know more dos and don’ts about what I can have or not have.
HEY, maybe I’ll write a book, To Have Or Have Not.
Catchy title, no?
Actually, I’m writing another book right now, A Tail Of Two Cities and frankly, it is the best of times and it’s the worst!!!
Honestly, Loulou, kitties shouldn’t have chicken or broth if there’s other stuff in it. Better to be safe than sorry.
I don’t get chicken broth unless it’s just chicken and water and maybe a little salt but nothing else. I actually stick with the same food all the time, just different flavors.
WOW – that sounds TOO good not to steal a bit from the pot when mama’s not looking!! But we gotta be careful – our digestive systems are just wired differently from anthros. Maybe mama can just cook you a bit au naturel on the side? Hmmmmm, going to make sure MY mama reads this and will cook something for me on the side as well – dos de cabillaud for today before she covers in horrid STUFF!!!! Loulou, you always inspire me……
Well, she ended up being good and giving me ONLY the meat/eat part. I tried…..but speaking of inspiration, WOW on the painting and I am amazingly real!!! Caravaggio would have been worried about the competition! Amazing. Could I advertise you in the blog one day?
Ooooh – that wasn’t the painting – it was mama’s mock up!!! Painting still in preliminary stage. But I am always thrilled to be on your blog, Loulou!!! Well, hopefully it turns out pretty – and fun!
NO, not on the blog yet, but just asking for the future if we CAN put it on when finished? Love Bacchus…er…mama loved Bacchus a bit more. I can’t have any Bacchus….
We avoid giving the cats anything cooked in onion or wine.
Oh, that won’t be a problem, as mama does not want to share her wine, haha. Just kidding. But I don’t get anything with onion, garlic or vino.
Funny you asked that! I was just telling my husband today that I am tired of making bland food (I have been the past few months because I share with Cody). Today I made chicken with LOTS of garlic and onions…..nope, didn’t give Cody any…..but…sometimes if something didn’t marinate in something bad I will give him a teeny tiny piece that is close to the bone….(if no seasoning has gotten on it)……..I wouldn’t give a broth that was made with onions……even when dissolved the onion juice is still in it. Another good rule of thumb? “When in doubt…DON’T.” xoxo
Oh, perfect, Caren and Cody. When in doubt, DON’T. Mama says does that go for teenagers, too, haha?
Supposedly the heat of cooking/baking will evaporate the alcohol in anything.(Though my mother had a couple of friends who refused to eat beer-battered fish because they never touched alcohol.) But I don’t know if that would still make it safe for kitties.
Well, thank you for that info. Mama doesn’t give me onion, garlic, or booze but every now and then an infinitesimal lick of chocolate or sweet yogurt comes my way, but I’m not a sugar kitty. I like meaty foods. Even more than fishy ones.
Don’t know about the wine but kitties aren’t supposed to have onion. That’s usually Jan’s excuse for not sharing with us. 🙁
Well, there was no onion in this stuff so I guess I’ll be okay. But I eat the same thing at the same time all the time and I’m very…er…regular…..
