Hi, there. Today I am turning my blog over to mama’s photos of some pretty silly but fun things she saw strolling around our beloved city, and far be it from me to judge. But I’ll put them in anyway and just keep taking a bath, which is far more important than some of these weird photos!
So here are three ladies at the Rome Filmfest, and you may not realize it but some of their garb is made out of FILM.
Mama wasn’t sure that ANYONE was looking at the dresses, heh, heh.
This is a lovely curved piazza where many movies are shot. And off to the right (out of the pic) is the trattoria where Ivana Trump had dinner a few weeks ago when the family was visiting Rome. It was evidently the only restaurant that was easily protected by the Secret Service guys. But I’ll bet they had good pizza!
This is our little street with the walkthrough from one building to another, prevalent in medieval times. For some reason, everyone takes a picture of it, but frankly, mama, it does zilch for me.
A very neat and orderly place where the beloved homeless lady of our neighbourhood sleeps at night. Across the street is the carabinieri (police) station, and so she sleeps safely. Mama has long conversations with her as she is full of amazing stories. She also greets every handsome business man who walks by, and they all know her.
These are mama’s favourite sandwiches–tramezzini–I think you’ve seem them before, but these were especially fun because the bread is made with squid ink!!!
And this is one of mama’s favourite things to shoot. There are little corners everywhere that have flowers growing out of the stones.
An innovative owner of a trattoria uses all kinds of different chairs for his dining tables, and a lovely little flower in a second-hand vase on each one.
UH, OH, THAT’S IT, MAMA!!!
I just knew she’d throw in something like this…what’s a kitty going to, I ask you?
No more guest blog for YOU, mama!
You had better watch your step…
We always enjoy seeing your mama’s Rome pictures. She shows a slice of life we’ve never seen.
You are too kind. She does choose some weird things to shoot, I think.
teehee – love your evil eye look!!!! But we know it’s just an act – hey, we gotta do our theatrics to keep the anthros in line, right? Meabwhile mama is ooohing and ahhhing over the beauty of Rome and the creativity – dresses made of film for the film fest!!! Moi, I’ll take one of those tramezzini. Gotta put the pressure onto mama and papa to take me to Rome!!! I already know one word – CIAO – that means food, right? Mama shakin her head…….
Ciao, indeed!!! YES, eats, haha. Actually what you need Mya is, Mangia, mangia! Eat, eat, and point at your mouth.
Oh, Loulou, look at you … such a poser! But a purrty poser!
Time out for mama, right? She does keep putting strange animals on your blog, doesn’t she! Say, we have an idea. Why not charge her rent for such photos on your blog? Just think of the fortunate you could amass.
HEY, that’s great idea! I’ll start to charge what…half a million..? Kibbles? Maybe charge a beefsteak or two.
Lovely photos. Still trying to grasp the concept of bread made with squid ink. What more usual ingredient does the squid ink take the place of ?
Oh, recently, the bars started being what we call “creative”…creative with their normally plain but delicious sandwiches. Now you will find bread flavoured with sweet peppers, or cheese bread, and frankly, mama like the plain old original tramezzini made on wonderful huge white slices of soft bread. And SHE is a baker and loves artisan bread with grains and such, but there is definitely a place in the world for white sandwich bread, she says. Imagine tomato sandwiches on rye bread!!! Hmmm, maybe different but maybe good, too.
