Our neighborhood’s homeless lady anthro, Emilia, lives out there, and it’s getting cold now. I hope she will sleep indoors as I know she has a place at a church to sleep. Everyone helps her, which is really wonderful, and as I mentioned before, she knows all the businessmen and business owners in our part of Rome and they all help her.
Well, today I want to thank Kristin Espinasse for her informative blog on the homeless.
And if you have time, do take a look at the YouTube Invisible People videos that really made all of us think about those on the streets without homes or friends or family.
This is a short blog as mama couldn’t help me with the camera today, but tomorrow we have a treat–a sweet story about a bull saved from the bullring!!! So lovely, sent by Mya’s papa who finds the most interesting videos on animals.
Like the story of Greenland. And then I found Fiona from the NYT.
I think I’m getting a bit sentimental in this Season….
It would be awful to be homeless. I’m so glad I’m here in mama’s arms.
I’m so glad you are warm in your momma’s arms, too. It just isn’t fair that there are so many kitties & humans that are homeless and especially during cold weather. Hugs!
Yes, but it is I who keep HER warm at night!!! Right on top of her knees, or head, sometimes…
It’s sad to see the homeless people. But actually, some of them like living that way. Don’t understand it. We’re grateful that we have a home.
Yes, the other day mama tried to put two coins plus a new one in the hat of a homeless man because someone had just thrown him coins on the street, and when she put them in his hat, he went BONKERS!!!! He thought she was taking them!!!
OH so sad – and Loulou, we are lucky gals to have food, shelter – and love. Mama read a story in Nice-Matin last week about a homeless man who had lived in his car for years – and it was towed away in Juan-les-Pins because it was parked – in a free space “for too long”. The people in the neighborhood collected $$ to get his car out of hock, update his insurance and then get it passed for the inspection sticker! But it all happened – about 2000 euros worth. Whew. And winter is surely the time to help these people – and animals out. And to be thankful for what we have.
What a great story of kindness. But to live in a car in winter…oh, lordy. What good, good neighbors.
Aaaaaaaaaw Two bootyful ladies. Dat’s really great dat so many peeps help da lady. Mommy ‘members when she and Shad were homeless. There wasn’t a lot of helpful peeps ’round. But, they ‘purreciated everythin’ they got. Mommy hopes she’s never in dat boat again. Me can say me wouldn’t like it. But at least me knows, mommy would keep us with her, no matter what. Big hugs
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
Your mama would NEVER leave you alone and we are so glad she has a roof and kind kitties to warm her heart.
We are glad too Loulou! I might have been homeless once (I don’t remember my time before the shelter) but I know I wasn’t safe then. I hope all peeps and kitties can stay safe and warm in the coming seasons and beyond. I want them all to be as lucky as we both are to have loving, warm forever homes! Patzy
Oh, Patzy, yes we are so lucky and our anthros are even more lucky to have been FOUND!!!
I am glad you have a good home LouLou. I wish every pet and person were so lucky. XO
Oh, I do, too. We never realize how many on the earth are without roofs and without love. And it’s up to us kitties to help change that.
So many are homeless because of circumstances they can’t control. Or because they put an ill loved one above themselves. It’s awful to think of anyone living in a car or on the street, especially in winter.
Oh, Jan, I know. The homeless on the steets here in Rome are numerous, more than before, but at least there is a large church kitchen that feeds around 60 and it’s warm and loving. Then, back on the street. Not a good thing.
Aughh! LOVE personified. My fingers are too fat for the keys !
Oh, Mary, I don’t quite understand the finger thing. I think I’ll email you and ask about that.
Oh LouLou, that picture of you and your Mama is Lover Personified (Catified?)
Well, we have alot of love in this house.
