You guys go ahead.  I think I’ll just stay here and…er…get some work done, zzzzzzz. (The beach IS the world’s best litter box, that’s for sure!)

Well, Mya’s mama sent this article about an amazing artist who is creating works made from debris she found on beaches.

Mama remembers that when she was in Italy as a young woman, she found so many things on the beach of Viareggio that she could have lived there without ever having to shop except for food!  Of course there were often other things, too, hypodermic needles, discarded medications, you name it.

But how inspiring and thought-provoking that this artist has taken debris and made these fantastic sculptures, one of which, the ribs of a whale, you can walk through.  Maybe those who see these wonderful sculptures will think twice about tossing their plastic into the precious sea.

Mama and papa love beaches but don’t go often any longer because of the hot sun, but in early morning and evening here, there are beach-combers looking for bottle glass or shells or whatever has washed up.  These beaches are kept very clean, but a beach in the morning does sometimes provide treasures…a shoe, a lovely piece of driftwood, a starfish.

Early morning is best to beachcomb.

I wish kitties were allowed on the beach here, but we all get skittly when it comes to hanging out with hundreds of anthros spread out in the sun!  Not sure they want a kitty padding over their beach towels and looking for handouts from their lunches, haha.

Plus, I really don’t have a proper swimsuit this year…

Hey, aren’t there NUDE beaches?
