(I have to comfort mama after her traumatic event.)
Well, mama is still a bit overwhelmed by having her wallet lifted, but she’ll be fine soon. I should have said, “shaken up”, but I remember hearing those songs that say “I’m all shook up” and I think that applies to mama pretty well.
Still, the only thing now that really bothers her now about the whole incident is that the thief wrecked the zipper on the coin part of her wallet! Hey, mama, let’s leave it all at the river, as they say (whatever that means–something about an old lady that wanted to be taken across a river to the other side and two young men were there and one offered to take her across on his back, but she bitched and moaned all the way across, so that when it was over, the young man who did NOT have her on his back said, “Boy, that was some old woman, complaining and complaining about what you were doing, helping her get across the river”, and he kept bringing it up over and over as they went on their way until finally, the one who took her across said, “I think it’s time we stopped talking about this. I LEFT her at the river.”
Not sure you got that, but my suggestion is, mama, let’s move on from this and be very, very grateful to the gods that everything worked out for the best.
The moon is beautiful, the air is clear, the wallet is back, our friends are here we’ve not seen in a couple of years, and tomorrow the sun will shine. Plus, there’s fresh kibble in my dish!!!
What’s not to like?
Thank you, Loulou, for your very good advice.
Aw, shucks.
You are the best bit of loving comfort your momma could ask for. I bet if you purr in her ear she’ll have a good night’s sleep. Hugs and luvs.
Oh, I try, I try.
We’re glad to see you’re taking such good care of your mama after that event. Purrs
Yes, well it’s part of the job…
Looks like there is a full moon over you & Mama. But it can take a while for Mama to settle down, because in a way she has a minor form of PTSD. Not only will she be VERY careful when she has her wallet out again, but she will probably feel a bit jumpy. So keep up all the good snuggles.
You know, I think you’re absolutely right. She said today in the grocery store she watched that wallet like a hawk, whatever that means.
