WOW, that guy can tickle the ivories!!!
Well, mama and papa are in there watching a DVD called Green Book, which is up for an Oscar.
Here’s the thing – papa gets a nice group of DVDs each year that are Oscar nominations because he is a screenwriter, and mama and papa take turns each evening picking out the one they’re going to watch, and tonight was mama’s turn and she ended up all squeaky and teary over this really wonderful movie about a famous black musician who plans a tour to the deep south.
Even I could tell it was really good because the acting and music were amazing!
It’s from a true story about Don Shirley, the famous pianist, and the man who played Dr. Shirley, Mahershala Ali, to my little ears, has to be one of the world’s great pianists. It’s the real actor who is playing…just amazing!
So here we are with a handful of Oscar nominations and I have NO idea who this Oscar is!
I think he’s a prize or something for the best whatever–movie, director, music, actors, all those anthros who put movies together. Yes, I think he is a statue that is given out at some big ceremony that we never see because it’s in the middle of the night!
Well, I’ll be reporting on these movies, you can bet your boots, because I’m the one who snuggles up to mama and papa and checks out what’s good and what’s not so good on the nights that they watch something. And there are a lot of nights ahead, that’s for sure.
Just call me Kitty Critic, whatever that is. I did see a kitty in this movie just as she jumped off a piano but she only had a bit part, whatever that is. I think it’s small, like a walk-on, but you never know who’s going to give an Oscar performance so I’m definitely in on this marathon.
I’m sort of leaning toward Crazy Rich Persians, or was it Abyssinians? Hey, I’m up for anything with kitties in it…
So cute! I hope you were happy with all the winners:)
Well, these are only choices, not winners but we’ll know more in February I think.
Enjoy LouLou. We’re all fur anytime we get to cuddle with mommy. Big hugs
Luv ya’

Oh, Cuddle is my niddle name.
Well. LouLou. my cat Oscar is a black cat who is alternately Oscar the Grouch, or Oscar, winner of the Oscar for best Oscar.
Oh, that is FUNNY. He’ll be up there on the stage in Feb.
Wow – Mama says they will have to watch that one! Papa made a list of the Golden Globes winners – and they are going to continue Roma – they started and got bored – but the reviews are so good, they’re going to re-start. Do you get into the movies, Loulou? I just don’t – but I love snoozing on mama’s lap on the sofa while they watch. Looking forward to more critiques!!!
Well, we liked Roma for its simplicity…a story of a family and their attachment to one another and the sweetness of it. It was like seeing a story fall by a window…no deep meaning, but incredible scenes and the children anthros were so unselfconscious. Worth a look.
That is so cool your folks get the dvds of nominees.
Only a few.
