(My Listening-To-Music Pose)
Uh, oh, I hear the door opening—click, click—now it’s closing and mama and papa have abandoned me yet again to go in giro as they say here, which means out to do errands, shopping, appointments and so on. While I lie here under the couch trying to keep cool and wishing I had more company and someone to play with.
BUT…I have music from the Auditorium (Parco della Musica), which the anthros put on for me to feel more at home and safe and calm while they are out gallivanting all over the place and no doubt having a much better time than I even if it is almost 90 degrees outside.
Maybe life under the couch is not so bad. I love opera, and today there is a lovely soprano anthro warbling her little throat out just for me. Mama says that after that there will be some Bach as in the Well-Tempered Clavier, which I also love because I love anything by that man and maybe they’ll throw in the Brandenberg Concerti to round out my lazy-in-the-shade day.
Mama says that if music be the food of love, play a lot of it all the time! But what Mr. Purcell actually said was,
“If music be the food of love,
sing on till I am fill’d with joy;
for then my list’ning soul you move
with pleasures that can never cloy,
your eyes, your mien, your tongue declare
that you are kitties ev’rywhere.”
Or something to that effect…
So listen to music and be calmed that your anthros are coming back soon, probably with some special something for you, you little patient, waiting kitty.
It’s too bad we abandoned kitties can’t wait together somewhere, with maybe the orchestra of St. Martin’s in the Field or that cutie-pie, Mr. Dishy Dudamel making magic with his wand!
Hi, Loulou!!
