Oops. Can’t help mama. It’s lizard time for me.
Well, today mama was in the garden, tidying up for the onset of spring and good weather and seedlings popping up and roses that might bloom before Bunny Day (whatever that is) and harvesting a gazillion broad beans that seemed to fill out all at once, from one day to the next!
Lots of work today! I helped of course by orchestrating the whole project…PUT THOSE GLOVES ON, MAMA, OR YOU’LL STICK YOURSELF ON THE ROSES!
Thank heaven, mama said, we have pecorino cheese to eat alongside the raw fava beans. I’ve mentioned this before, but those beans with the Italian peppered cheese are one of the delights of spring.
Well, the garden is spruced up. I guess it’s my turn…
But why do I taste like a lizard?
A lizard? Hmm… maybe one has been lurking around the bean patch and has left his musk behind hoping to attract a Tuxie lady like yourself? Maybe he doesn’t realize he’s a lizard. Tee hee hee.
Well, that lizard got away but yes, there was a certain je ne sais qua of sniffiness, haha.
Your garden is beautiful ! The beans make Claire hungry ! Did you catch a lizard ? Purrs
Thank yoou! We have enough beans for Claire, but alas, old lizzie got away…
Yumm – lizard – never tasted that one!! Is it better than mouse? Well, I’ve never tasted that either. Well, Mama’s cousin and her friends have been visiting and it has been such FUN – they all love doggies, and they love to see me smile as I greet them. Tonight it’s moules-frites on the port! Yippee!!!!
Oh, Mya, you and your mama and papa know how to LIVE!!! Do you eat mussels? WOW! And say hello to mama’s grand niece.
That does sound good.
The lizard? Fried or simmered?
That looks like a lot of beans. Does your mama freeze some for later?
Yes, yes, frozen and they are so, so tender. Not at all like the store-bought ones. But mama loved lima beans and they don’t have those here.
We don’t blame you for going after the lizards, Loulou.
Yes, well, another excuse not to labor, haha.
There’s no accounting for taste. is there LouLou ?
