Well, it’s here.
Water. COLD water.
Rain. COLD rain.
Wet. COLD wet, whatever that means.
No more mucking around in my mulch or practicing for the Marathon by running the length of the garden several times a day.
No more outdoor john. Most anthros seem to be thrilled with not having an outdoor john, haha, but we kitties love having the whole outdoors for our toilette! Anthros are weird…
COLD slippery stepping stones in the garden…I went sliding trying to get inside when the deluge started!
Plus, mama can’t make her pepper jelly in this weather, haha. Or any jelly for that matter.
I guess I’d better stash some kibble somewhere and start my hibernation for the REAL winter.
Wait a minute. Winter in APRIL? What is going on?
PAPA, MAMA, SOMEONE MAKE A FIRE, SOME OF US ARE FREEZING!
Finally, they listened to me!
You know what they say about those April showers, Loulou.
Yes, you get WET. I AM WAITING FOR THAT BLUEBIRD…
Yeah, Loulou – HERE TOO!!! Rain started during the night here and supposed to be a dreary day. But Lucky YOU!! A fire roaring, comfy sofa and chairs. I get a pillow on a brick floor that’s COLD for the exposition. I want to go across the street and spend the day in that posh lounge and have people wait on me. I thought that’s what princesses did – ?! Oh, how times have changed.
You just can’t get good butlers any longer, Mya. Maybe a personal trainer? For your maman and papa so they’ll know the rules!
Oh oh, Loulou, you do sound downbeat.
I agree, though. A cold April is not welcome.
But why does your mama can’t make her pepper jelly “in this weather” ?
Oh, that. You can’t make jelly in wet weather because it won’t jell properly. She has been teaching this for years from expeience! Her mother taught her the same thing and the grandmere taught the mere. The moisture in the air affects the pectin in fruits.
Very interesting.
I am going to look for recipes of pepper jelly, even HOT pepper jelly, as mentioned by Ellen Pilch.
Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pepper…. (a tongue twister I like to practise when I drive my car.
Use mama’s recipe…she has been making it for 30 years.
Will send…
Very nice of your mama.
I think she can actually send you photos of when to stop boiliing the jelly and jar it.
Cold wet rain? Brrrr. Stay inside by the heat.
Yes, and I wish I had Marcus to cuddle with.
LouLou Dad told us the weather people said it will be cool and raining all week. Not straight mind you but “in spurts.”So that is even worse we think.
Where is your hibernation den we will join you
Timmy and Family
Oh, Timmy, we could get into some serious hibernation together. It’s under the bed on a soft pillow!
I love hot pepper jelly when it is on top of crem cheese on top of a cracker 🙂
YES, YES, or with roasted meats or here in France, foie gras (we don’t have that though), or with Mancnego cheese, sliced very thin. Here they eat quince jelly with Manchego but mama has changed their minds, haha.
Yes, Winter is not eager to leave yet.
And mama just planted four tomatoes. Ciao, sauce!
