Ha, ha, ha–mama was SO surprised!
Uh, oh, we had a little spill after lunch today…Mama was too enthusiastic clearing the outdoor lunch table but thank heaven she jumped back just as THIS happened:
OKAY, NO PIC!!! AOL cannot seem to send my pics to ME on MY email so that I can post them HERE!!! Photo tomorrow if all goes well….
So to continue…It is a photo of a huge amount of cutup beets that mama served with lunch. The WHOLE BOX went splat! Imagine the aftermath of a fox and a chicken…
Mama cried, “Oh, a great photo” and ran to get her IPhone and then, after the pic was taken, she grabbed the hose and squirted the patio (AND PAPA’S LEGS AND SANDALS!) to get the beet juice off the tiles!
They weren’t very tasty anyway, (the beets, not the tiles), being the last of the summer root vegetables, mama said. It’s time now for gazpacho and tomato-based recipes what with all the lovely heirloom produce in the marche. And ours are growing at last, too. Even a few we didn’t plan on, haha. Mama is out there now pulling up the ones who are stealing water and nutrients from the big guys.
Oh, the trials of a gardener…
My nip was way overgrown and mama cut it back and just happened to leave the cuttings near me as I basked in the sun…oh, boy. Right now I’m sleeping it off, haha.
I know you’ve seen this pic before but I can’t help myself. It says all…zzzz.
Maybe “After The Fall”…
Awaiting the pic with great interest.
Concernant les pieds de tomates, oui, il faut être intraitable et retirer les “gourmands”. C’est ainsi que l’on nomme ces excroissances qui pompent la vitalité du pied de tomates.
I am STILL trying to get it to my SITE!!!! argggggh. I desperately need a guru and I could change my whole way of WordPress blogging and do it in half the time. Adobe HATES Mac.
Oh my! I’ve never had a beet! Glad they didn’t turn the white parts of your fur red!! Your papa mush have been a bit shocked, LOL – well, Loulou – stick to the nip and I’ll do my part with the cherry tomatoes!! BUT have to say – you are LUCKY to have that FAB terrace and be able to eat outdoors. We’re going to Romolo’s in Bordighera after grocery-shopping – but NOT the same thing as at home!!!
Wish you three were here for clam sauce…or we were there for Bordighera. How long does it take to get there? You go so easily…
Bordighera about 35 minutes from Nice!
LUCKY YOU, Mya, and clam sauce, too.
Beets are messy. Glad you got some nip. XO
Well, mama was seeing RED, haha.
Glad the humans survived even if the beets didn’t. Jan loves beets. She used tohave some cats that loved them too.
I sniffed around the disaster, but papa moved me away so that I didn’t STEP in the JUICE….uh, oh….
Hmm…nip or beets…Nip or beets… Not much of a choice !
No contest!
