When THEY are gone, I sleep all over the bed anytime I want! HAH.
Well, haha, it’s mama and papa who have now been well-instructed on how to take trips, since the first train they took to papa’s back clinic was an hour late, and the train on the next day, yesterday, to go home didn’t budge AT ALL because it was hung up behind ANOTHER train that was broken, and so it couldn’t arrive at the passengers waiting on the track (even though it was ON the track just a few meters away…arggggh) and NOW, they have made reservations for today and even THAT train may not leave or be on time and so they won’t make their connection if that happens, and I know this is a run-on sentence, but they have been running on, too, all day long! And if the train today is hung up, they have reservations for Saturday, too, and if that train is hung up…well, I just hope my food here at home holds out!
So now they are back at their hotel and the room was still there and still empty and so they are repeating yesterday, in a way, so “Back To The Future” was a better title for today’s blog, haha, instead of yesterday’s.
Hey, papa says, “when in doubt, have a beer”. I’m pretty sure he did, but mama had a cool shower because it was ONE HUNDRED DEGREES at the broken-down-train track and they had waited over an hour in the heat, wishing they were…er…a few years younger, haha.
Boy, am I glad I am NOT on this trip!
But if my food runs out, I may be having lizard lunches…arggggh.
Hmm… I wonder what lizard tastes like – maybe like turkey? Do you think it’s crunchy between the teeth or chewy? Winks.
Loulou, you are right. You’re lucky you’re not there…that heat sounds awful!
I am sacked out on the bed. I know where I should be, always….
Goodness Catness those trains sound so out of sorts what in the world can be wrong with them. We like that you were relaxing on the bed and hope the snacks hold out
Hey, I came out ahead on all counts because I was
NOT with them!
OMG!!! This heat is causing chaos all over France and Europe it seems. What a horror! Fingers and paws crossed the trains will run today as scheduled. Read that the speed limit in Germany had to be lowered because the roads were melting! We went out last night and at 9PM on return I don’t remember it ever being this hot in Nice at that hour! Well, Loulou, you won’t starve for sure and you’re in air-conditioned comfort – so enjoy – and I’ll bet your Mama and Papa will be SOOOOO glad to get home and back in YOUR bed!
Oh, the trains. Total chaos. First one cancelled so they had to go BACK to our hotel and stay another night! Then got train and reached Narbonne and train cancelled to Perp BUT just by chance another arrived 5 minutes later and all went well except the train was PACKED with bicycles and motorcycles (they got seats) but papa couldn’t carry anything so someone had to be found who works for SNCF (they were found, thank heaven) to carry papa’s bag, etc….more later.
Ah! La SNCF et ses aléas. . .
Loulou, your papa and mama were lucky, in a way, that the “cheminots” did not fancy to go on strike. With this lot, you never know.
Bon, tout est bien qui finit bien !
Presque bien………papa taking things so he can walk…..
Oh, your poor wringing wet mama and papa. Hang in there, Loulou, they will be home to you soon. Eventually the train has to arrive at the station and leave on the same day.
Ha,ha, one didn’t arrive and one didn’t leave…BUT they are back.
That sounds like an awful trip.
Not the best of times…but OVER. They are home. It’s just a bit warm.
Dang, that’s a real train pain!
HAHA, train pain. GREAT blog title! Could I plagiarize, haha?
Oh dear, LouLou – and in all the heat too ! I know not every country appreciates cold beer. What is the custom where Papa is ?
Cold rose is a good summer drink here or mojitos, whatever they are.
Oh, you poor dears. We hope the train situation improves and your dinners hold out.
Well, they are back and my food was fine! But I kept aloof for all of 10 minutes, haha.
