Hey, this isn’t turkey, it’s FISH!
Well, Turkey Day is approaching but we’re having beef stew that a friend is making. BUT…another friend is making pumpkin pie, so I guess we’ll be a bit traditional if not 100%. I think I can have pumpkin pie, just a tad, no?
We have other friends who have pardoned turkeys and geese and are having vegetables and that’s fine, too. Certainly sweet for the turkeys and geese, and mama likes veggies more and more so she’s taking pommes dauphinoise to go with the stew (stracotto, in Italian).
And guess what’s in those potatoes…CREAM, cream and more cream! YAY.
I’m hanging out in the kitchen on Turkey Day, that’s for sure…
AND THAT’S WATER, NOT CREAM…duh!
You can have the whipped cream, Loulou! Happy Thanksgiving!
I’ll share!
Yum, Xmas is such a great time of the year, Loulou. I can’t wait for all the good food and laughter.
I like the laughter part a lot.
Ooooh – maybe your mama will drop or spill a bit of whatever and YOU can be on clean-up duty! That’s what I do best! Supposed to be sunny here tomorrow and if that’s the case, we’ll take a LONG walk around the port for moules-frites! Mama always ate seafood for Thanksgiving “back home” – so it’s a sort of weird tradition. Maybe they’ll throw me a french fry now and then…… Have FUN Loulou – maybe you’ll get a taste of those deelish potatoes!!!
Oh, how I would love to be strolling around the port and eating French Fries…maybe a moule or two. Happy Turkey Day, all of you.
I hope the cream shows up in your bowl Loulou!
I’m putting my bowl next to mama’s cream pitcher…
Happy turkey day. Stew is good, especially with pumpkin pie and whipped cream, right?
YES, WHIPPED CREAM…I forgot about that…maybe my dessert after the beef!
Potatoes and cream – sounds wonderful ! One of our friends adds cream cheese to the mashed potatoes ! Definitely not low cholesterol.
Well, mama uses milk and cream but yes, some people put cream cheese in mashed potatoes. The French cooks just use a TON of butter and whip, whip, whip….not a low cholesterol day.
