What do you think?
Yesterday, a dear friend and classmate of mama’s (who lives in Washington close up and personal to politics) sent her this. It was refreshing to hear the sanity in Republican ex-President Bush’s address to the nation (2005!) concerning a possible future pandemic.
A few days ago, also, another friend sent this from President Trump.
What do you glean from each?
The juxtaposition of these two men was far more important to mama than what people might think. And mama, as you might have guessed, is not a Republican.
As always, we welcome your comments.
Well, Loulou – you and I weren’t around during the Bush era – but Mama sure liked THAT speech! BUT he wreaked havoc in the world with the unnecessary war in Iraq, based on lies. Trump has wreaked havoc on everything he touches and is the worst president EVER! Mama was a Bernie-girl – since the US is the only developed country in the world where healthcare is not a right. That’s one of the reasons why she moved to France – a good move for SO many reasons!! And how many in the US will bankrupt because of medical bills from coronavirus – or a pre-existing disease – like cancer or diabetes? Well, Mama could rant on and on, but she will stop. And she hasn’t even had her coffee yet! Good thing or she would really be on a rant! Loulou – where are my kibbles?
Yes, the good and bad of Bush, but with this president, only the bad, daily.

Good idea for you, Ellin
Yes, many of us who thought we would never say it are missing W. Hell, we’re missing Warren G. Harding and James Buchanan !
His speechwriters did a good job, but he had the guts to be straight with Americans. Not my choice, W, but boy, you are right. And Biden is a good person with strong policies to help not hinder the country.
Just think, the press used to pick on Bush for not being too bright.
Well, his speech was probably written by his speech-writers, but he had the hutzpah to give it. Which is more than I can say for the US president who is leading the US into disaster. More disasters, I might add.
