Whatcha lookin’ at birdie?
Well, mama says there is something called a Mexican Standoff so I guess that’s what I’m having with this silly tourterelle (turtledove) who seems to think he is king of roost!
He has NO fear! (With good reason, I am a little wary of HIM and we give each other lots of room...).
But when mama catches him having a bath in MY water, she has to change it immediately, so he’s a pain in the beak, so to speak.
Or she, maybe.
And speaking of beaks, my tooth strengthener and breath freshener is in that water, birdie, so you must have one of the strongest beaks in the neighborhood, haha!
Actually, we share a sort of mutual acceptance of one another, a little peaceable kingdom we have here, right?
But for now, I’m staying in my standoff.
Er…lie off.
Silly old bird! Doesn’t he know a fierce kitty is in residence?
I think you have the upper paw Loulou. At least you are closest to the dish
Oh, yes, I am always closest!
Those birds can be so pesky, Loulou. But we bet you’ll win this stand-off…or lie-off…whatever.
They are far too nervous to out-wait me.
Bonjour, Loulou!
What a cheeky bird, to bathe in YOUR water!
Mummy wants to know what kind of breath-freshener you have in your water (because She thinks Trixie has Stinky Breath and the DentiSept cream is not working).
OH, this liquid is wonderful and tasteless and no odor at all. It is called OXYFRESH Dental Care, Water Additive, and it works beautifully. I had sore gums and now they are well. And I smell nice, too. Except maybe after tuna…..
I think he wants to be furriends with you, LouLou…or take over your environment…MOL😸Pawkisses for a Happy Sunday🐾😽💞
Well, we are distant friends, let’s say!
I know I’d just be biding my time with said dove. Maybe she/he just needs their own water bowl? Of course that would take the fun out of the whole thing, MOL
Have a peaceable Mexican week 😉

Wait a minute. What’s a Mexican week??? Margaritas for mama??? YAY
Well, there are birds here like in that old Hitchcock film – they zoom from the trees at us and I think they look for food? Not MINE – but people give them breadcrumbs and put bread on the sidewalk. Can’t wait to see you Loulou – Saturday evening!!!!!
We are here, haha. Not anywhere to go! So tickled to have you visit. And there are tomatoes, MYA!!!
YIPPEEEEE!!!!!!!
Can’t wait!!! Mama is even going to make something tasty.
I am glad your mama cleans it , birds carry a lot of disease.
Yes, we are aware and yes, we clean it daily and the birds only come at a certain time. Mostly they just drink…
Well Loulou it’s probably smart to keep at paw’s length from that bird. His beak is sharp and he’s FAST…..It is, however, not nice that he steals your special water. Just keep an eye on him – he’s probably jealous that you have such a beautiful home and someone to look after you while he’s on his own!
Hugs, Teddy
Well, he DOES have a mate, but maybe she’s a bad housekeeper haha. These doves are so spoiled, because anthros here love the doves but NOT the pigeons.
Wise idea LouLou. Never borrow trouble.
Oh, no, never a borrower nor a lender be, haha. I’ll lend him my PAW if he gets feisty but these guys are fearless and just walk around eating crackers and looking at me as if I am not even there.
You look like a rock star there Loulou!
Is that because I’m lying around on rocks ha ha?
