Well, mama has always wondered about this nursery rhyme.
Because I started out my blog with “Tuesday’s child is full of woe” but fortunately did some fact-checking and found (in fact!) that Tuesday’s child is full of grace. Well, they found me on a Tuesday so I guess that’s applicable to me.
Except when I fall klunk off the couch dreaming a bit too energetically, haha.
And when mama was a young girl in very high heels, attempting to look sophisticated and cool, she would (too often) trip at the entrance to a big party (with everyone watching…) and her friend, Nan, would call out, “Hey, it’s Grace”, which was a joke between them because there were LOTS of moments growing up, as there are for kids, when the two of them goofed or stumbled or felt awkward about just being in their bodies, so let’s hope that Tuesday’s child is full of PHYSICAL grace, in my case, haha.
We kitties are funny that way…we aren’t REALLY uncoordinated, we actually plan these little klunks or plops that look as if they are surprising and graceless, just to amuse our family members.
But you knew that, right?
Ooooh – well, doggies can be klutzes too – and Mamma fell in her first pair of high heels as she was making an”entrance” toa sweetheart banquet. We’re too young to know what that was, but mamma andeverybody else laughed!! Good thingwe don’t have to wear costumes, huh!?
Funny, yes, no costumes. But mama misses her high heels…..
Yep, Loulou. Everything us cats do is definitely planned. We make no mistakes. 😉
How do you spell that M I S …..
I think it’s our attempt to keep our humans giggling – if we act silly and fall slip or trip it’s PLANNED for their entertainment!!!!
Hugs, Teddy 🙂 <3
I’m sure of that. They giggle like crazy but try to hide it so WE won’t feel bad…haha.
Mom doesn’t believe that I intentionally fell out of her lap. Scylla
They will believe ANYTHING! And I know you, Scylla, you do NOT make mistakes.
We used to say “Way to go Grace” when I was in high school 50+ years ago. And to myself, sometimes, since I am no less clumsy as I get older. Just more breakable.
YES, YES, that’s what mama’s friend said. Mama forgot!
Too funny Loulou, I’ve been know to roll off of the ottoman a time or two!
Well, but it was planned, right? Sort of entertainment for the folks, right? Okay, wrong.
