Well, mama was out with papa picking up a flu vaccine, whatever that is, and I was seriously tied up with my napping and everything just got away from us all, so mama has to stop helping me do this blog and make the dinner as it is late and cold and we want hot SOUP, some of us.
But mama has learned a trick to counter my finicky little self. She melts a tiny bit of duck fat (from confit de canard) and dribbles just a drop or two over my wet food, and somehow I manage to eat everything without leaving the bigger chucks behind.
I think it’s because my little teeth on one side were never in good shape, and now I am protecting what I have left!
But if you are a finicky eater, that little touch of fat is really attractive.
I had better go help with setting the table. It’s late and freezing and I’m trying to talk them out of watching something called “proceedings”, whatever they are. No one seems to be gettting anywhere anyway, haha…
Anthros are weird.
Plus I want to see the “red string” on YouTube that Ellen suggested I watch, whatever that is.
———————————– something like this maybe…but it moves, I think.
I’m sure it’s more fun that this (yawn)….
Duck fat huh? Toby is going to try that next. Thanks Loulou
Oh, it is so, so yummy and you don’t need much as it is fattening but just a drop or two makes me eat my dinner.
We’ve heard duck fat can be a real treat for us cats.
Oh, Puss, you bet your Boots it is.
Oh my! I bet that duck fat adds something SPECIAL to anything it gets dripped on…..yum! My Mom says those “proceedings” are very “yawn-worthy” (whatever that is). I just nap. That’s my thing and I do it well I must say.
Hugs, Teddy
Mama says she will go insane if she watches any lonnger so she leaves the room. Yadda yadda yadda is what they are saying, mama says. Yawn-worthy is a goot one!
ooooh – we went to the pharmacy for our flu vaccine – and they haven’t gotten them in yet – said to come back Saturday or Monday. We will get ours for SURE!! And Mamma ordered kibbles for my arthritis from the vet (maybe that’s why I had an upset stomach – heard mamma and Papa talking about the veto!!! But maybe it’s too much cucumber. Hey – whatever works! But they’ve stopped giving me stuff from the table. Poor Me.
Hey, Mya, you didn’t really want that Ottolenghi Chicken with lemon anchovy sauce anyway, right? And thank you for suggesting the arthritis Mobility kibble for ME. I think it is helping, but what do I know…I’m asleep most of the time. But I walk well in my dreams, haha.
Mamma just ordered a 7 kilo bag for me this morning of the Mobility Kibbles!!! We will be ready for the Olympics!!!!!!
Well, I hope I improve. When mama rubs my paw joints, my eyes go slitty and I roll ove to have her do my tummy, too. So I guess the pain is mostly when I climb the stairs, because I limp pretty badly on one paw. But exercise is supposed to be helpful, too, even if mama carries me up and down often because she’s a sucker for a “look”……
“
I would also eat anything with a little duck fat on it, Loulou. You’re a lucky kitty.
Well, sometimes I worry that I offend duck-owners…as in Louise Penny’s character, the made poet, with her pet duck in all of Louise Penny’s Inspector Gamache books. Worth a read, in order if possible, and if only to meet the crazy poet and her duck! Mama LOVES the books.
Here is a link to the red string video that my Rosie is addicted to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVnrbp8DPO4&t=7904s
Ellen, I LOVED the string and mama took pics of me looking here and there and then then there is a really fun one….but you’ll read about it today. MERCI for my string! I just hope I don’t get strung out.
Getting flu shots for Mama and Papa is a definite MUST Loulou.
Well they are here but we put them in the fridge as it is still warm until early November and the immunity will then last into the cold months if you vaccinate according to your seasonal weather where you are.
Duck fat, that’s a pretty impressive add on Loulou!
Well, mama keeps it for sautéing potatoes, a French secret. Less fat than butter say French cooks.
