Whew, it’s over!
Well, many of us are breathing sighs of relief that the inauguration went well, that the standards were raised (and finally, America’s ARE raised), that our President spoke of unity, not disparity and rage, that the young poet, Amanda Gorman, went into rap beat toward the end of her moving poem, and that Lady Gaga really, really NAILED the National Anthem in a way we had never heard that had us all in tears.
All in all, a monumental inauguration that will change history. Wait a minute, why do we say change history when history is in the past? Hmmm.
Maybe “change future history”… or MAKE history, which is what President Biden and Vice-President Harris did yesterday.
Well, President Biden will certainly enrich the future for America, through his relief proposals to help those struggling, a stronger, post-COVID-19 economy, more job offerings at better wages, an overhauled infrastructure, and a repaired unity with other countries, a unity without which we cannot strengthen our position on saving our natural resources and create a sustainable planet. For all.
Hats off to Joe. Hats off to Kamala. Hats off to the National Guard, heroes all. And hats off to GOP members who put aside their past grudges to work WITH President Biden for all Americans, not just the privileged few.
Time to start the 100 days with hope.
But time to pass out, for me–this kitty can’t handle so many good things happening in one historical day!
Changed my mind. Mama says that to relieve tension, try doing a few upper body rolls to relax the shoulders…
Now that the stress is over get to those rolls Loulou
I think I need tummy rolls right now…
Onwards and upwards, Loulou! Have a relaxing weekend.
Maybe meditation. I like not moving.
Well, I don’t understand politics – but Mamma is bouncing off the ceiling and Papa is TOO – Loulou, maybe we should have a drink together at some point (when safe) to celebrate. Or you do your nip and I’ll chew on my denta stick. Gotta celebrate!!!!
I would love that, Mya. And if I had teeth, I’d chew on a denta stick, too. We CAN WhatsApp with video!!!!
Lady Gaga did do an amazing job. I hope everyone has a better future. XO
I hope all of us profit from the new programs for our country. Long overdue.
Well, our Mama is fond of quoting William Faulkner : “The past is never dead. It isn’t even past.”
LOVE Mr Frost! And there are miles to go before we sleep…
