Well, papa is always showing me very interesting things on his IPad, like the pink surface of Mars or a lovely photo from The Cloud Appreciation Society, which sends daily photos to papa from anthros around the world who love clouds.
Today’s cloud was particularly beautiful, but papa says they are often photoshopped, whatever that is. Still, some are pretty amazing, especially the ones shaped like animals or anthros.
Mama and I like clouds in general and spend time in the garden meditating on how clouds form and so on. Actually, I just meditate on the broad bean vines, or the nice soft mulch I can relax upon. But pretty soon, papa is going to give me a lesson on cloud-watching.
He says it is good for the soul and spirit, and I can understand why that’s important right now. Mama loves the song about clouds, the one by Joni Mitchell, whoever that is, and the lyrics are very beautiful and make tears come.
The only difference is that we don’t have any illusions here about love…nope, none at all. It’s everywhere.
when I was a little girl I used to lay on the grass and watch the clouds for HOURS! I’ve always loved them!
Yes, mama and friends used to do the same thing. So good to have creative parents then, and it was BEFORE IPhones….
It’s kinda amazing the shapes some clouds will make. 🙂
Well, we’re putting one on today that’s pretty funny.
Mom says she used to lie in the grass in the yard as a little girl and look for “animal shapes” in the clouds….hmm….I think I’ll do that and see if I can find “human shapes” !! Seems fair. Clouds are fun to watch – when they move super fast Dad says that means “weather is coming”. I thought weather was here all the time??!!
Hugs, Teddy
HAHA weather IS here all the time, but anthros in mama’s family meant the same thing when they said, “Weather is coming” meaning rain, sleet, snow, whatever. I’m pretty sure that’s what it meant, just as when someone’s bones ached and they said the same thing.
Love Joni Mitchell, Loulou. Thanks for sharing. Cloud watching is so much fun – much better than social media.
SOCIAL MEDIA SM haha….sado masichist….whatever that is, but I think it’s accurate.
Reminds me of when we were kids and used to guess what the clouds looked like – cats, dogs, horses! This is a beautiful reminder to look at clouds with a new eye! Mamma is writing this – maybe she will give me a new perspective!! Thanks Loulou!!!!
Oh, mama, too, looked at clouds on her back on a beautiful day and then sometimes, went home with chiggers, haha. Did you have those in New Orleans, Mya’s maman? But we still look at clouds all the time…and make up funny names for them as in Mama Turtle and her Three Terrors, or Wispy Weird Walking Wiggles….yes, we are definitely weird, we three.
Loulou, our Mom is a cloud freak too. She loves to lay back and watch them (in the summer). Me, I only notice when they shade all over me!
Ha, ha, I LOOK for that shade, too, but maybe I’ll look up more….
Wow – we looked up that cloud web site – it is quite wonderful. We also love the Joanie Mitchell song ! Is there a site dedicated to broad-bean-vine gazing ?
Ha ha, dat’s a goot one! Maybe we’ll start one. And mama misspelled Joanie, for Joni…sorry about that. We corrected it. Yes, it’s a great organization.
It is fun to watch clouds, but I find watching cats more relaxing. XO
Oh, boy, do we LOVE that, too. Except we have to see other cats on video since I am an only child.
I’ll come with you and mom to watch the clouds. Love the song. Beautiful.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. ♥
Yes, Joanie is one of our favorite singers. Love to watch clouds with you!
Loulou, I think clouds are fascinating, and I often snap photos of cool formations, like when the sun peaks through a break, or a distant thunderhead that has an interesting design.
As a kid, before a rainstorm, I’d grab an umbrella and sit on the pavement, keeping myself dry while enjoying the rain!
Why no one told me that could have been a good way to get hit my lightning…
Oh, no, no one said ANYTHING? Well, clearly you had the right umbrella!
I never knew there were cloud watchers, but I do enjoy clouds – I’ll have to pay more attention to the fluffy things in the sky. I’d forgotten about that Joannie Mitchell song, what a wonderful tune, thanks for the reminder LouLou.
Yes, the Society is for real, and mama gave papa a subscription for Christmas. It is a wonderful org.
Maybe one day cats will take over Mars too Loulou! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Love Thursday blog hopping! Thank YOU.
