Well, THEY are in Rome early because the traffic on the highways and the tunnels (156 from the French border to Florence!) drove mama up the walls.
Frankly, mama doesn’t seem to bond with tunnels, especially long ones, but oh, boy, WAS I GLAD I WAS NOT IN THAT CAR WHEN THERE WAS A SUDDEN BACK UP FOR WORK ON THE AUTOROUTE AND THEY SAT IN THE CAR FOR AN HOUR WAITING TO START OFF AGAIN!
And nowhere to run around and stretch my paws.
And a VERY inconvenient…er…toilette set up inside an automobile.
Heck, it was even stressful for THEM, as they certainly did not have their liter boxes with them, haha.
All in all, home, sweet home, is where I want to be.
If only they were here, too…sigh.
Hey, whose turn is it to rub my tummy, kitty sitters?
Yeah, I’d rather be at home than deal with traffic, Loulou.
Traffic makes me nuts! Even if I do look out the window at things. Before I throw up.
YES – we stay a week! No work and the trucks are mostly gone.
Well, mama and papa can’t travel on Sunday because it’s Simon’s birthday and they are having lunch with him. BUT, now that you mention this, they could leave on Saturday and get a leg up to Liguria and then have all Sunday to do easy tunnels (haha) without trucks. Good idea, merci! Then they would hit Nice for the last night before home.
Oh, Loulou – We always try to leave – and return – on Sunday – when the trucks are rarely on the road and the work has stopped! Tell that to Mamma and Papa! BUT they’ll be back soon and all will be normal!!!
How can you go and come back in one day, Sunday? Or maybe your mama and papa stay a week. Well, I hate to admit it but they thought Pietrasanta was a kick!! Except for that cat thingy….who do they think they are, making things in a Tuxie image?
I hate traffic. Not any tunnels near me though so that is good.
Oh, you do NOT want tunnels, mama says.
I hope they enjoy their time roaming around Rome Loulou!
Ha, ha, they went out roaming this morning and found it much less inhabited than usual. That’s good. If she were not long gone, they might have run into Romie Schneider…
I hope you are all reunited soon…..as Dorothysaid “There’s No Place Like Home” as she clicked her ruby slippers!
Hugs, Teddy
Oh, mama would love those slippers at certain times. But she loved them anyway long ago, just to wear!
We hope that long traffic delay was not while Mama and Papa were IN a tunnel ! Our human is not overly fond of tunnels OR bridges. Or MRI scanners.
Oh, mama understands you there! Maybe travel with Xanax, haha.
