Thank you from papa for all the nice birthday thoughts. I’m busy right now getting my scritches but I did do the fill-ins…
Well, we were challenged by these afill-ins but we straggled through:
1. I hope the Easter Bunny brings me __more of this incredible food papa found for me, by Animonda.
2. My favorite part of the Easter ( or Passover) meal is __is the story behind it all, especially that weird thing about the bunny laying eggs…whoa!
3. I’m most looking forward to __being in the garden with mama pruning everything while I watch and make sure it’s done correctly this weekend.
4. For me, this time of year __is filled with bird song and good smells and fresh grass to munch on. Also Mr SUN (we hope, but you never know around here).
Mama’s making broad beans (feves) to honor Spring.🦋
Broad beans, green onion chopped and sautéed in olive oil, a little white wine, chopped fresh mint, and crumbled crisp bacon tossed with all at the the end with a squeeze of lemon.
I’ll stick with the bacon…
I’ll skip the beans too, Loulou. Though they look like they might make for some fun whapping toys. 🙂 ~Ernie
They are GREAT whappers but just don’t swallow one whole! Mama and papa eat them raw with pecorino cheese studded with pepper. NUMMY.
Oh yes – gardens – not warm enough here for us to start anything but I’m sure my Mom will have a potted tomato plant on the back deck….and herms in her deck railing planters. Those beans look fab. Those scritches from Dad look fab too!!
Happy Easter…………..Hugs, Teddy
And happy Bunny Day to you three and bon appetit, too. Mama is stuffing her disastrously colored eggs, haha. Usually they come out pretty well, but I think she needed more cracking up. Easy around here…
WOW!!! All I get is Orlando snacks! But Mamma looks at the “What dogs can eat” before she feeds me! Maybe there is a cat thing? Found it!!! Slideshow People Foods Cats Can Eat – Pet WebMD. Mamma used to give me things that made me sick – now she doesn’t!!
Oh, I get no snacks but my food is out, a little of it, all day as we kitties like to eat sporadically, our favorite word, sporadic, after the greek sporades islands! Love it.
Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Yes, a bunny laying eggs is hard to imagine. 🙂 The beans sound delicious. XO
Easy, peasy, and you can use fresh green beans, too, cut in smallish lengths. Any bean actually!
You are several weeks ahead of anyone here in the gardening LouLou. That food looks good. I think those beans are what we call Lima beans. (though I have no idea why)
No, they are broad beans in the UK, fava beans in Italy and Lima beans grow on short bushes and mama has grown them. These beans grow on very tall plants, of which we have a few in the garden, and we will send pics. Mama LOVES Lima beans but we have not found them here. Broad beans are taken out of a thick pod and limas grow in a delIcate pod. All tasty!
Oh, to work in the gardens!
Cannot yet, around here, but I’ve already started my list of plants to add to the collection.
Mama just repotted 8 Corno Tomates, that are long and lucious when ready! We’ll plant one for you.
