Mama sometimes says that obstacles are put in front of us sometimes because our minds have to stretch to find a way around or over or through them (or not, sometimes) and that having a problem of any kind is, as one of the builders on mama and papa’s first house used to say, “an opportunity”—he did not feel that problems existed.
And I like that attitude. For example here I am climbing my own private Annapura (yes, yes, you’ve read the other blog on this but perhaps you didn’t really grasp the difficulty of this “opportunity” for a kitty like me):
Finally, after delicate, intricately graceful steps, I SUMMIT!!!!
Now what?
Am I supposed to get down from here?
Why is everyone leaving the room who could help me?
Where are you going, you no-good deserters?
Okay, well, you know where to find me if and when you need to have me in your LIFE again!
Hey, this is a great opportunity to claw around in mama’s ferns!!!
Just kidding. I’m not that kind of kitty…
Or am I…?
