Thankful that the vaccine visit to my doc is OVER!
Well, papa’s ex who is very good friends with mama and papa, came back from visiting her daughter in Chile and was speaking Spanish to someone or other and said “grachias” for “gracias”, which is how it would sound in Italian, and as some words become part of one’s language in funny families (and we are one for sure!), mama and papa now say “grachias”and love doing it because it reminds them of a very special woman who is in our lives and so today we are thankful for those people in our lives who make the day begin with good feelings and smiles, which papa’s ex does for mama because they exchange good morning pictures on WhatsApp and good night moon pictures, too, because mama and papa’s ex are both moon children born only a month apart.
Well, if that isn’t a run-on sentence, I don’t know what is!
Thank you, everyone who makes the day begin, as do so many blogger friends and neighbors on our street and friends so far away in the US and other countries.
And a very big thanks to President Biden who gave the most moving State of the Union speech mama and papa have ever heard, keeping his cool and humor amidst the cat calls and rude interruptions of the Republicans, who seemed to have no idea that they had agreed NOT to change Medicare and Social Security and work to enhance them both.
And be it known: if the Dems had behaved that way, I would chastise THEM, too.
We are thankful that perhaps the two parties will work together for all AMERICANS.
And thankful that Sawyer has had fewer seizures.
Home, sweet home…
Well, at least I didn’t have to wear THAT THING! Poor little doggy…
Loulou, I’m thankful that your vet visit is over now…and went well. Purrs… ~Ernie
Merci, Ernie. I’m free for another few months, haha.
Loulou we thought the Presidents’ speech was wonderful too and those hecklers were so inappropriate. We’re happy that your Mama and your Papa’s ex are friends. Neither my Mom nor my Dad know where their exes are! I’m just happy my Mom and Dad are together and happy and I am their little (?) bundle of joy. I know you were happy to get back home after getting a vaccine – that pup with the plastic collar looks like he’s hoping the lampshade (haha) can come OFF after HIS visit with the vet.
Hugs, Teddy
Hey, maybe doggy lovers keep their lampshades and use them as mementoes of the vet, haha, on a nice lamp! Wow, not know where they (exes) are – now we’re curious about where they are, haha.
Here we use a lot of words that our sons invented when they were young…we adopted them into our normal way of speaking…but then we have to be careful that we don’t use those same (non) words with others who wouldn’t understand them, LOL!
Same with my family when I was growing up…lots of odd words and sayings that my sister and I still use…language is fun to play with!
Her and I know 5 languages…though I only know two of them well enough to have a conversation. The other three have been locked up in my brain’s filing cabinet because I hardly use/hear them anymore.
Maybe one day I will find that key back! And why is it hat I DO remember the bad words from the unused languages?? LOL!!!
Oh, we would love to know the ones you have forgotten, haha. Mama and papa speak a few, too, and try to practice all but mama is now saying that she is forgetting ENGLISH, haha. And she knows something really bad in Russian, but only one sentence. Maybe send it to Putain…..
English, Dutch, (German, French, Italian.)
My sister knows all of them, too, she has a degree in Languages, majored in English, and German, minored in French and Italian.
Our ‘mother’ tongue is Dutch, though we spoke a lot of it at home, we mostly spoke English when we started to be of school age. My brother who is 4 1/2 years younger than I, he barely knows Dutch. He did have to learn French in school…as we all do in Canada, but he is definitely not bilingual!
Neither is my hubby…our sons know a wee bit of Dutch, self taught by using the Babbel App.
Oh, mama loved Babbel when she thought she might try for Russian…haha, not interested now AT ALL! And mama and papa have been watching Modern Love, Amsterdam, and what a beautiful city! Our grandson is working there as an astrophysicist and just got his PhD and doesn’t want to leave that fantastic city, but his real passion is taking care of endangered animals in South Africa…these kids….who knew? Dutch is most bizare language on earth!
Unless, of course if its your mother tongue, LOL!!
Well, yes, although mama and papa love messing around with their mother tonque. Is there a father tongue?
I am glad you got your vaccine over with. And I agree with your mama about the speech. XO
Merci…it was very moving and we were all in tears at different points. I thini because it was such a relief to hear positive SANE proposals for progress.
I’m really glad you didn’t have to wear that cone too, they really aren’t the fashion statement that humans think they are. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
You are so kind to thank each time and you are so welcome each time. Hope all is well at your house.
We are not sure what beuing moon chiuldren involves, but apparentlky Papa has very good taste in them.
HA HA HA…mama and she are almost the same age, so papa didn’t go after a young chickie on the second round, haha. Mama and she are very close friends.
What a beautiful post LouLou, we’re thankful to see your sweet self today – enjoy your day!
Merci, Catmom, and a tummy rub for ALL of your amazing kitties. All so healthy! I hope Raleigh becomes…er..a bit more social, haha. Maybe mama is making a mistake but we think it’s he that is not so approachable.
Loulou, your face through the netting shows that you weren’t a happy camper, but hopefully you’ve forgotten all about it now.
Well, yes, I forget pretty quickly…I think. What netting?
