To so many who sent healing thoughts to mama and papa. They are working!
For being cared for by my aunty Sue, who loves me and snuggles me and is such a good aunty when THEY abandon take leave of me to see those no-good darling grandanthros in Italy!
For sweet blogger friends, many of which are new thanks to Ann Adamus who so kindly posted MY snuggle with a healthier mama and papa (last year’s photo, not THAT old…).
For a negative test for mama and papa’s soon to follow.
For mask-wearing and distancing, even if we wish we didn’t have to, but it keeps us safe.
For all the wonderfully creative tocks on so many blogs today, haha.
For kindness in so many hearts.
Thank you. Merci. Gracias. Danke. Grazie.
BUT GET YOURSELVES HOME, mama and papa!!!!

Here is the answer to your Ryū question:
Ryū-Chan: Hi Loulou! Thanks for asking! #1 lived in Japan for many years and that is where she got her first cat, an Abyssinian called Ikkyu. Since then, all the cats at Poupounette Central have had Japanese names. By the way, Benny’s full name is Benkei, after a famous warrior monk, and Momo’s is Momotarō, after a hero of Japanese legend. Tama means Jewel. As for my name, in full it is URYŪ (with a long u) which means Rain Dragon. I am called Ryū-Chan (Beloved little dragon) for short.
Oh, how incredibly fascinating and oh, those beautiful names! Mama’s dear friend lived in Japan, too, and knows the tea ceremony and speaks some Japanese and mama’s nephew speaks Japanese and wrote Bicycle Days about Japan when he was a senior at Harvard and our friend in LA (now back in Japan we think) Katsu, taught many of the sushi chefs in LA how to make unusual sushi. He and his wife came to dinner once and mama had made grilled salmon and put a pyramid of “wasabi” next to the fish…Katsu looked very wary of the “wasabi”as it was a hefty pyramid. He took one bite politely and found it was fava bean purée!!!! He was such fun to banter with and oh, the sushi!!!!I believe he is part of the Katsuya group still in LA.
