Okay, okay, it’s turkey but we giving a turkey somewhere a respite and are having a little chickie, and mama has stuffed it with her mama’s dressing recipe…lots of fresh sage, onion, celery, garlic, olive oil, a bit of butter, cornbread made with corn nibs and chilli powder from New Mexico, salt and pepper, chicken stock, and two beaten eggs folded in before stuffing the birdie.
Mama says I should put in that clever link every Thanksgiving and I do, but it’s because it’s hilarious, not to actually promote turkey awareness, haha. But it is a cool spokesturkey video for those birdies, non?
We have, too, carrot and potato (sorry, Potato Heads) purée as a side dish with roasted broccoli with olive oil and lemon.
But the main thing is this:
WE ARE SO THANKFUL FOR YOU, OUR BLOGGER FRIENDS AND FAMILIES, FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP AND KIND WORDS AND GOOD HEARTS AND A LIFT OF SPIRITS WHEN SOMETIMES SORELY NEEDED.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
I hope your turkey…er, I mean chicken…day was purrrfect!
It was, dear Ernie and I benefit from the leftovers. You, too, I’ll bet.
Love that photo of you and your Mama! I bet that chicken dinner was AMAZING…your Mama is such a wonderful CHEF and no doubt you were able to share in the feast. Ours was perfection too and while we have lots of turkey for turkey casserole, sandwiches, and turkey pot pie, we NEVER get tired of turkey!
Love and Hugs, Teddy
MAMA LOVES TURKEY! Especially cold turkey sandwiches with mayo and cranberry sauce and turkey soup and turkey curry so maybe at xmas we’ll get a turkey part, which they sell as leg and bosom in pieces, so the right size for our small family. Merci for the inspiration.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your mama and papa, Loulou. I’m sure you are thankful for those delightful mama squishes.
Mais oui! Being squished is one of the magic moments in life around here. And I squish mama back when I lie against her leg.
You are so darn cute. I hope you and your folks had a nice turkey ( chicken) day. XO
We did, we did, and I had white meat, no gravy or skin or anything but I am a purist, haha. We hope yours was nice, too. Your day, that is, not your white meat.
Sounds delicious LouLou ! Happy Thanksgiving to your and your reunited family !
Merci, Ms Mary. We had a lovey dinner and mama’s pepper jelly and THEY had a nice thing made from grapes, whatever that is.
Happy Thanksgiving ! Purrs

Oh, lovely, lovely, and mama makes smashed potatoes too..your mama amd my mama cook very similar dishes but we didn’t have pumpkin cheesecake. Will you mama part with recipes? Papa had a little piece of plum pudding, which mama makes every year, so he jumped the gun a bit, haha. Mama LOVES Caesa salad and using an anchovy or two along with oil and vinegar and a bit of parmesan.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Merci, Kitties of the Eastside! We are SURE your day was tasty and fun.
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us and thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Donc, we are so thankful for the weekly blog to remind us of sweet Brian.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all, enjoy!
We enjoyed, we enjoyed! Merci.
Just in time to say Happy (Not in your country) Thankjsgiving!! Before *she* goes to work!
Your meal made her and our mouths water!!
Tomorrow will be our feast day with family…a mixed bag of traditional and vegan dishes…to keep everyone happy and thankful!
PLEASE LET US KNOW THE VEGAN DISH NAMES. Mama is compiling recipes for our vegan family members who will be mixed in with the vegetarians for Noel.
Vegan Banana Bread as a hold out till the meal is ready…or just because…plus other snacks of nuts, and crackers and vegan dips (store bought)
Cranberry relish… spiced with ginger, cinnamon and orange juice; there are raw varieties as well, some of which use jalapeno peppers, its yummy like a variation of salsa without tomato.
Mashed cauliflower with vegan butter and garlic.
Roasted Brussel Sprouts with cranberries and basalmic glaze.
Cucumber salad
Vegan stuffing with vegan bacon bits (UGH! for us real foodies…) and dried cranberries, juice sweetened.
Vegan Apple Pie or vegan pumpkin pie.
I feel stuffed and wonder if there will be room for us non vegans to have turkey…just a small breast, done in the slow cooker with fresh herbs.
Well, merci for all of those ideas…mama is non-vegan for sure but more vegetarian than meat-eater. Mostly she just loves cooking and food and wishes there were not labels on us, haha. Tonight we’re have pasta e fagioli, pasta with white beans in tomato sauce with parmesan…a great winter favorite in Italy.
