Well, I’m not a 191-year-old tortoise, but I’m thankful that I am loved anyway!
Well, this amazing creature has inspired me today to be thankful for his long life, his loving caretaker and his example to the world that slow and steady wins the race, haha.
Perhaps if we were all like tortoises and took life a bit slower than we do, we would still be around at 191.
Interesting to think what the world would look like then, non?
Mama has always loved turtles (I wrote long ago about the turtle valley near us that houses some very old creatures taking it easy in their grassy enclosures, also meercats, mama’s favorite little tribesmen) and Jonathan certainly is to be admired.
I hate to imagine the hare that would try to race this guy…
Happy birthday, Jonathan!
Merci, freepik.
😸😸😻
And here is the link to the Chilean prison where cats rule.
There’s a local pet store here that has a pet tortoise that walks around the store. Not something you see everyday!
LOVE that. Take a pic for us one day if you have time.
We don’t see any tortoises around here unless they are pets – our next door neighbor boys had a tortoise named Suzie who enjoyed indoor living and outdoor space in a fenced in area of their yard. One day she escaped and we all did a step by step search of our yards but Suzie apparently had great ideas of freedom and we never found her. There is lots of wonderful habitat around here though with woods and streams so I like to think Suzie is a happy girl somewhere enjoying not being penned up!
Hugs, Teddy
OH, we hope so and mama has affinity with anything called Suzie, haha, which is what she was called when little but Suzy, no ie.
That is so cool! The tortoise!! Here where we are, we have a little Zoo, there is also a tortoise, but its only about 90, I think.
We get a lot of wandering turtles and tortoises around here as well…sometimes the snappers! They are formidable creatures…yikes! Sometimes I have stopped my car or when on a country road for a walk, I will pick them up off the road and set them to the side they were headed so they won’t get car squashed…
Oh, that is so kind of you and yes, they sometimes wander…they did in mama’s childhood, too, and there were snappers in the bayous.
The hare just needs to climb aboard!
GREAT idea…uh, we think that might not be that easy on Jonathan, haha.
That is a long life. I used to have turtles. I would love to have a tortoise. XO
Maybe we could arrange that….
Jonathan is really special and I hope he celebrates many, many more birthdays. Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
