Well, today, no tulips here but we love the song, and I am headed to my our pruned roses to make sure NO ONE bothers them while they are just awakening from their winter sleep.
Hey, buds!
Haha, that’s a hello from me. I see that they are just beginning to show their little new leaves on the journey toward April or May blooms. Maybe for papa’s April birthday…he loves the rose called Sweet Love, and we LOVE HIM!!!
I shall guard the bushes every day by GLARING at any birdies or seagulls or anti-rose marauders who might show up. I think mama is ordering ladybugs for the aphids, whatever they are.
Have a trip through YOUR tulips today!
Our crocuses are just poking up some green shoots in the front yard (where they don’t get as much sun.) The tulips are pushing up too, but they are getting the sunlight reflected off the aluminum siding to help them along.
Oh, crocuses are so lovely. Mama adores tulips, too, especially after they have been in a vase and start making their own pattern with stems.
Little leaves appearing is a real sign of Spring. Nice of you to head out to the garden to guard the roses…..!
Hugs, Teddy
Oui, they need my protection from … whatever it is they need it from…
It will be a while for any tulips here, and even longer for any roses!! Which we only have the wild ones in our yard…the black thumb reigns over our petcretary!
And yet she rescued a sorry looking orchid from one of the residents at her work…we shall see how that goes….grows (we hope)!
I think your mama should stick her thumb in some pea soup or maybe green tea and her thumb should start working at once.
Our #1 finally got around to pruning the rosebushes a few weeks ago. We have quite a lot of them and love each and every one!
Purrs,
The Chans
Ooh lala, mama would love to know more about what you have. Her favorite is Sweet Love, not found very often and she has started six branches that are leafing and will be ready for next planting as three of them are in the garden already from two years ago when they began as stick. Let us know the names.
How nice of you to guard the bushes. Be sure to check on ground level for mice trying to chew on them too. XO
MICE? MICE? NO WAY, JOSE! They live elsewhere…I hope.
