Well, now they have really surprised me because mama and papa are going for ONE DAY and NIGHT to see papa’s sister in Hawaii because she needs a visit and a some really good hugs and smiles and encouragement for her very involved life. Those are nice trees I put in the blog but I don’t think mama and papa are going to be doing much sight-seeing.
I have never met papa’s sister, but I know how much he and mama love her and that she is one very special person. Her husband and she have begun a Conservancy on Maui for the preservation of the vast forest of palm trees that they have planted on Maui not only to save certain species of trees that might have died out, but to protect the land on which they grow from being developed. Mama says you can see on their website what they are doing, and she and papa have not been to see the palms for a few years.
Mama asks me all the time, “Loulou, why are families spread all over creation, making it so difficult to meet for a nice bowl of pasta and a glass of wine together, or to just be there as a warm body when one is needed?”
And I say, “Mama, I know what you mean, because you and papa are spread all over the place RIGHT THIS MINUTE and here I am, so far away from you and wishing I could tuck my warm little body up on the bed with you two and stretch out for a lovely, dreamy sleep.
I think that’s mama’s leg under me…
Mama’s ex-sister-in-law (there has to be a better name for this member of the family, and shorter!) sent a piece to her called Cat Rules, and this was one of them:
BEDTIME: Always sleep on the human at night so s/he cannot move around.
Here is another one:

So you get the general picture of who’s who around here. But of course, it might be only when THEY are away that I get these grandiose feelings about myself.
Still, to go see papa’s sister is really important, I know that. And I’ll really try to hold the fort while this happens.
Papa is the one on the right, haha.

Family is so important, Loulou. You’re kind to understand your mom and pop need to visit family and old friends.There will be a big reunion when they get home and you will have cuddles galore. 🙂
