(What if seagulls decided to stop and rest on city streets instead of rooftops and old ruins?)
Since I completely missed Monday’s spark and Tuesday, who knows what happened? So I’m re-publishing a What Ifs blog from long ago that seemed timely, even now!
What if Palestinians and Israelis all had DNA tests and found that the same blood flowed in all the veins? That they were all, essentially, brothers and sisters and part of one big family?
What if all of the white anthros in the US looked in the mirror one morning and saw that they were black? And what if all the black anthros did the same and saw that they were suddenly white? Would that change our racist attitudes? Would it scare all of them to death? For that matter, what if all kitties woke up one morning and were doggies and vice versa? Oh, boy…
Here I am…haha.
What if there were soccer matches without ANY mean fouls? Hah, imagine that! Would the game be better? Worse?
What if everyone in the world could use sign language? Think of how many new deaf friends we might make and how much we could learn about that world.
What if everyone who is gay were suddenly straight and vice versa? Now THAT would be really infomative, no? Perhaps a lot of fear would disappear…
What if all computers operated perfectly ALL THE TIME?
OH, BOY, mama says, now THAT’S a good What If!
What if THEY came back early and surprised me? In my dreams, plus I have to clean up my act before next Tuesday!
Maybe…
Or maybe I’ll just bask in sun puddles and pretend I don’t even know THEY are back!
Very interesting thoughts LouLou. Being in another’s shoes would definitely make us more compassionate of one another. I hope they get home early to you. XO
Well, early for me would be yesterday, haha, but Wednesday next will have to do..
Very interesting What Ifs, Loulou!
Well, being in others’shoes helps sometimes….
I really like that list of what ifs, Loulou. Enjoy your sun puddles.
Let’s hope we can empathize a bit more on some days, no? And let’s hope the sun keeps shining for awhile.
Oh Loulou we wonder “what if” all the time….people sometimes really don’t realize how wonderful their lives REALLY are until they look on the other side! Anyway, you just take it easy and nap away the time until Mama and Papa get home. “What if” they were home right now? Well I think you’d be VERY HAPPY!
Love, Teddy
OH, YES, I would be very happy, but guess who else would be happy, haha!
Those were fun and maybe sometime we could try them out! Yup…as if. We could use costumes and makeup to do some of them, though! Imagine!!
I wouldn’t mind being either one of you two cuties. Plus I’m sure you get treats and rubs all day long.
Very good, thought-provokng column LouLou !
Merci, Mary, we like to think outside the box around here, whatever that means.
Fascinating!
There was an old Star Trek episode, where two communities were at war: one group had skin color that was black on one side, white on the other, and the other group had white on one side, black on the other.
They were fighting each other, even though it was obvious to outsiders that they were alike.
LOVED Star Trek, or at least mama did. Would have loved to have seen that one…
Have a safe trip, all of you. And we’ll see you when you get back home.
Well, we’re here and mama and papa had 20 people over the next day. Fortunately the black-eyed peas were all ready, frozen and thawed out for good fortune for all in 2015.
