What does one do when one gets sad and disturbing news? I’ve thought about this a lot and I always want to get near the human and let her, in this case, know I am there to pet or feel or just talk to a little if she feels like it. I suppose that’s all one can do, just be there and be on call when needed.

A very dear and longtime friend of mama is not well. But she will be, I’m sure of that. It’s just that when it happens, it is never easy news to hear for the person afflicted. In fact, it’s just awful. Merde.

I advised mama to really be there, be available anytime she is needed and I’ll be here, too, in case anyone wants my view of things or in case mama needs my help. Mama says that she knows this friend will conquer all because she is strong and able and has a wonderful mind and heart and because she loves Jack Russells and anyone who loves JRs is a person with courage and strength and imagination and adaptibility and mama’s friend will…in short…kick ass with this illness.

I just had to say that because it was the only thing that worked.

We are all here for you, dear friend. Just say the word. Any time.
