Well, as a follow-up to my gun blog, I hope you’ll take a look at the photos in this web site on World War II.
I am pretty sure that many of you out there have no personal knowledge of the war, and these photos are an amazing overview of what was happening where and the types of airplanes used and the types of guns. Yes, I realize that there had to be this war, that a man like Hitler was a wild card and a sociopath of the highest order, fooling many of the eventual allies into believing that he was doing his dastardly deeds for the good of mankind, but of course, we know what he was doing and was a psychopath, the likes of which had not been seen in eons.
The photos are so moving.
Mama has read a lot about the war and seen hundreds of photos, but being colorized, the photos bring the war into a more human aspect for her, and all she could say to me as we watched them was, Oh, my god, Loulou, why do men do these things? Why do we have to sacrifice men who are barely out of childhood to these encounters? How can anyone say that war is a positive action?
And yet…what else is there when one group wants what the other groups have and will do anything at all to have it? Kill, maim, rape, steal…and more.
What emotions do you have when seeing these amazing photos?
I know what I feel.
I’m so glad I am a kitty and not an anthro, and I’m really glad I am not a bomb detecting kitty like that poor doggy.
No bombs for me…I will forever be a CO (conscientious objector).
Thank you for sharing those amazing pictures Loulou. The ape’s parents were around in WW2. The colour gives these pictures a new quality, the ape isn’t used to seeing WW2 in colour.
Luff Mungo & Jet
Well, someone sent them to me, my adopted aunt, and you are welcome. She sends some really good stuff.
We wouldn’t want to sniff for bombs either…just sniff for treats. 🙂
Hey, now there’s a job.
Great photos. Those of us who have never seen war are so fortunate.
Boy, are we ever. I remember that your brothers were soldiers. But I don’t understand any of it….
