A wonderful painting by a friend that I felt was relevant to this story.
Well, mama and I found this article and video on Good News Network the other morning and she was so, so happy for the Jack Russell who was in the Gulf of Mexico for three hours (!) wearing a tiny lifejacket and floating all alone. When spotted, he paddled toward the boat that saved him and that’s all I can say today because I’m tearing up too much. Maybe I’m just sentimental but that is one helluva doggy and I am so proud of him.
And as the reporter on the video says, life jackets on ship or boat animals are so, so important.
A sweet blogger suggested that if I go to Maui one day, I had better take my water wings and you can bet your paws I’m going out to buy some right this minute for the future.
How many do I need? Hmmm…
One for each paw? Two for four paws? Four for four paws? Oh, boy, this is not going to be easy…
Poor doggy – thank goodness he was rescued! Love you Loulou – you can practice wearing your water wings around your house until you go to Maui although going in the ocean might not be your favorite thing – maybe a baby pool would be better. ha ha
Yeah, a hot tub with a Mai Tai, whatever that is.
That is an amazing rescue story.
MOL! We bet you’d look cute in water wings, Loulou.
Well, if I can figure out how to put them on!
MOL Rest easy LouLou, me’s sure your mommy would make sure you were safe no matter what.
Luv ya’
Dezi
Especially with all those water wings on! Just hope she uses HERS.
