Well, not exactly a real lizard, but it was alliterative and I liked that. See what cheap shots I take with our language. But what would you call a kitty who sort of lounges around most of the day, especially in winter? Cuddled Up Kitty? Languorous Loulou? Lackadaisical Loulou? How about Lost Loulou, because with the onset of holidays, I feel a little…well…lost and blue, don’t ask why.
There is absolutely no reason to feel this way. Look where I’m sleeping, and with a view that’s eye candy, sun streaming in, winter not quite here yet, but still, there is so much pressure during holidays, so much unconscious stress even with all the fun of looking in windows and seeing kids getting excited and trees being decorated and put in windows and tinsel appearing on the street lamps. I think unconscious is the key–we don’t really KNOW how stressed we get for holidays, especially this year with all the political goings-on, and changes in the world, and what to get for Uncle Smidgeon or Aunt Buffy or friends at the office and so on.
Whatever that means.
All I know is that mama goes out to look for plastic storage containers for leftovers and comes back all tingled and turned on by the activity in the streets and the holiday mood that is beginning to permeate everything, and guess what? SHE HAS STOPPED TO TALK TO TODI AND GOO GOO AND GA GA OVER HIM YET AGAIN!!!
Okay, okay, he’s cute but he’s my NEMISIS, that bad Todi, always giving mama soulful looks to get her sympathy and a scratch and he is practically x-rated when he turns over for the tickle!
OH, NO, NOW THERE’S A CLONE!!!
See those eyes, that guy on the left, what he does to get attention? And see that ear thing the other one is trying out (and failing).
Well, if the holidays bring a little melancholy with them, these two can certainly help it along. Why am I not OUT THERE protecting my domain?
Because:
Unconscious is my middle name and I avoid it all this way.
Sleeping.
Well, actually, after that shakeup in Rome a few weeks ago, I’m going to help hold up the walls.
We tried to comment yesfurday LouLou but somethin’ strange kept happenin’ and then we couldn’t even get to your site. Anyways, we just wanted to let you know and tell you dat you looked bootyful.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
I wonder if Word Press was redoing something. Will look into it. Thank you!
Our mom always gets sad this time of year. Her Dad tied the day after Christmas and his mom on Dec. 30 (different years). Her grandpa’s birthday was Dec. 24, and a birthday party for him was always a big celebration when she was growing up. With Fiona ill and failing fast, she thinks she’s not going to celebrate this year. Sending love and hugs from our mom. Oh, Fiona, we are sending you good, good vibes and you just never know with kitties. Sometimes they do amazing turn arounds and sometimes not, but we love all of you and are thinking about you. Mama’s mama died at Christmas, too, so that’s why the blues around here at times. Also just the stress of a holiday season out of hand.
LOL – you and I are both lounge lizards at heart. but I know you’re there holding up the walls and holding down the sofa. Or maybe hoping it will turn into a massage-lounge with another shake-up!! But we’re NOT hoping for that. those doggies have a nice stretch routine – but they got NUTHIN on you!!!! But I’ve got my eye on that cutie in the box – looks like a real Italian Romeo to me!!!
Oh, Mya, you would LOVE Todi, that bad, bad doggy who takes mama’s attention EVERY DAY when she passes his mama’s shop.
Good idea, Loulou. Keep those walls standing!
Like the little guy’s “airplane ears” That’s what Jan calls Merci’s.
AIRPLANE EARS. What a great description. He might take off any minute, with Merci!
They are cute, bit no one is as cute as you 🙂
Oh, shucks, you are so, so kind but there are so many cuties in your family!
No No LouLou, you ae too harsh on yourself – you are suavely at leisure, as is your want
Hey, I like that. Suavely at leisure….that’s me (I).
“What would you call a kitty who sort of lounges around most of the day…”?
Uh – a kitty. I have several.
Glad you are facing Todi calmly. No need to get worked up. Your Mama sings ONLY to you ! 😉
SO FUNNY. Of course, a KITTY!
We think you have the right idea, Loulou.
Yeah, avoidance.
