Well, Cecil put his money where his mouth was….literally, by eating 4000 dollars left in an envelope at a couple’s house who were going to pay cash for work on a fence.
I had to put this story in to start off the week, as I know full well that there are doggies who will eat anything lying around or at least have fun shredding paper, money, old sweaters, shoes, you name it.
We might have mentioned this before but mama’s mama was visited her daughter-in-law and the darling bearded collie of the house disappeared into her mother-in-law’s bedroom, sat in an open suitcase on a brand new St. John knit and ate most of a box of Godiva chocolates, using the knit as a napkin, haha.
Pooe doggy. She was a bit under the weather after that, and I think mama’s mama finally did have the suit cleaned, but still….naughty doggy, that Miggin.
But Cecil is so incredibly cute that it would be very difficult to chastise him for his choice of chews!
So our spark for today is… you guessed it: forgiveness.
What a story…
We loved it that the owner said it was the first time he had laundered money, haha.
Wait a minute, is that a 10-euro bill I see on the floor….hmmm….
Our Angel MJF ate his share of bills too, but at least it wasn’t $4000!!
He would snag bills off the desks of the unfurs when they left their allowances there…and they must have smelled so tantalizing to him! I had the dubious honor of making jigsaw puzzles too, so the bank would replace them for the boys….and they always had a good giggle when I would come in.
The best though, was when *I* left a wad of bills in my car, inside a big metal bowl that I had to return after using it, borrowed. It was a sunny day, and I walked to my car and thought, I smelled toast???? Oops, the bowl acted as an oven and made the sun rays center on the bills and they had begun to smolder. At least I got there before they would have flamed. My canvas tote was also charred…a reminder never to do that again. The bank did exchange me for uncharred bills…which was from a fundraiser that I had been in for some school affair for m y sons. Sheesh!
WOW, that is one hot sun around there! But even your backpack…wow. Do you doggies wear sunblock?
I saw that story about Cecil. He must have been really hungry!
Hungry or broke…
We are very thankful that Fenris only eats dog food, and the people food Mom gives him. Yang on the other hand…
Uh, a nibbler in the house?
What a great story, Loulou – our dog, Shadow loves socks. It brings a whole new meaning to the dog ate my homework excuse. Glad that Cecil is doing well.
Yes, socks seems to attract…maybe just leave old ones around, haha.
We read that story about Cecil in the newspaper, and while it was totally hilarious on the one hand, it was a reminder on the other that our pets aren’t very “discriminating” sometimes as to what snacks they choose to enjoy. Socks, newspaper, money, plants, the occasional shoe – it’s all “fair game” if it’s left out! Glad Cecil was OK in the end (no pun intended).
Hugs, Pam
HAHA, after mama’s heart with that one! I mean your comment, not the shredding part…hilarious.
Yikes! A cat would never do that. 🙂 XO
Probably ten grand might tempt a cat, haha.
Oh dear LouLou – things could have turned out so much worse – especially for the chocolate-eating dog ! Maybe these humans should get Travelers’ Checks (do they still have those ?) instead of cash. Or if a debit card got chewed up it would be easier to replace…Good thing you are on a vert careful diet regimen !
Money means zilch to me, haha. Love and cuddles are all I need. Oh, and kibble.
We heard about the pup who ate the $$$!!
Wasn’t that doggy CUTE though. Who could be mad at that?
