First of all, we send hugs and warm thoughts to those who have lost kitties or relatives or friends this last week.
Always a terrible loss that many of us have shared.
🌺🌺🌺
Today all of us are pretty sad about these losses, but the sun 🌞 is shining at last and the cold is a bit more tolerable and mama is going to plant some seeds for spring, which are best planted now, so at least we can wander about in the garden again after so much cold and rain.  It may help this melancholy mood…
It is clear to me that these holidays might seem to many of us as if we were on another planet, but we will be thinking of you and mourning those no longer with you.
And I’ll try to get mama to make ginger  cookies as her mama did at holiday time, and I’ll snuggle up a bit closer than usual to papa and mama when we take our nap (naps, in my case), and we will sing Good King Wenceslas yet again and cry for its beauty and for the nostalgia of past holidays that did not feel at all like this one.
Think sun.
Think smiles.
Think Spring.
Breathe.
Cry.
Then move on to whatever it is that can lift your heart to another more welcoming place.
Not easy.
Cookies help.
And a beautiful sunset that papa captured.
To keep our spirits up, we should think of any positive moments, however big or small they might be, that happened to our families and furiends this year and recognize that 2021 wasn’t completely a wash. There can be sunshine in unexpected places and at unexpected moments. Purr purr purr.
Ours was filled with many very enlightening moments, Val!
2020 was a heartbreaking year for so many, praying 2021 is MUCH kinder!
Yes, yes, and especially heartbreaking for your family.
We’ve lost too many friends lately. This hasn’t been the best year…but we all know that.
Yes, strange, isn’t it? So many sweet kitties. I think most had long lives, in wonderful families.
We won’t miss 2020….we’re hoping 2021 is a HAPPY NEW YEAR. Cookies make it happy – naps make it happy and good health would make it even HAPPIER!!!!
Hugs, Teddy 🙂
But we learned a lot even with all the sad moments and yes, 2021 will be better for sure.
Thank you for the condolences. Yes, there is something good in every day if we look for it. I love napping with my kitties. XO
Oh, one of life’s greatest pleasures! We, too, love lolling with Loulou.
Thankful that the year is about to end and that the world is about to begin anew with the New Year.
Oh we hope so we really really hope so and thank you for visiting.
Oh, Ginger cookies are a favorite in our family !
And as Oliver Herford wrote:
“We are nearer to Spring than we were in September”
I think it starts around the 22nd because I know that Papa waits for that day and then celebrates although will still have some dark mornings until then!
We all need to keep our spirits up. It may be a quiet day, a celebration or simply a cat cuddle. It is important we look for the sunshine isn’t it?
I think you’re right about the cuddles and I think that’s enough Christmas present for anyone.
Yes so many are sad this year. Purrs Loulou and family
Yes we are all purring this week.
nice topic. really enjoyed
It sure has been a sad week in the Blogosphere, but cookies always do help.
Well I hope so because we need something…
You sure look relaxed LouLou, enjoy! Those cookies look pawsome, have a wonderful holiday season filled with peace, joy and love.
I feel the pain – and so does Mamma and Papa. Mamma just did a portrait of Gustav – the kitty upstairs who lost a long battle with kidney issues. So sorry for those who have lost their “best friends” – and that’s what we are.
