Okay, okay, that’s it for the moon. Onward and upward I always say, but er…not so much upward as snooze-ward.
Around here the summer is really upon us and mama and papa walk in the early morning and see things they might have missed later in the day. Like this HUMONGOUS MONSTROSITY that looked as if aliens are invading in a space thingy. These are the ships that caused so much damage in the waters around Venice, Italy and now they are banned, I think. I hope.
This thing is about 15 stories high and filled with tourists that this tiny burg cannot handle. They are not stopping, I’m sure, because there’s nowhere to dock, thank heaven. But we probably look pretty cute from those decks!
One of mama’s “Living Shadows” series…oh, boy…she’s off the deep end, that’s for sure. And to think that papa POSES for these things!
One of several little markets in our town. Bottom row, second from left, pimientos de padron from Spain. Tiny little sweet peppers that you sauté whole in a hot pan until charred on the outside and then sprinkle with coarse salt. I mentioned this the other day but this year they are SOOOOO good. Not that I eat those things but I love smelling them as they sizzle.
Uh, oh, the remains of a fougasse, the bread that inspired mama’s bakery. Can’t imagine who tore off that other part and had it with fresh peaches…
SO where is MY breakfast, huh, huh?
Merci!
what a beautiful place your Mama has to walk! Love the shadows!! The food looks delicious!!
Well – this is like Beauty (YOU) and the beast (THAT BOAT) – which we see around here all too often in NIce. The ferries are the big ships that come here – but those huge polluting cruise boats are all over the place in Monaco! No wonder we have no edible fish here!! Well, except at Picard’s. At that’s what I hear Mama whining about. BUT, Loulou, I know why you like your bowl way up on the rock – so we, the less agile species, can’t steal your food!!!! Bon Appétit!!!!
I do love my rock and when I here, am queen of the mountain,
Yes, that ship was a blight on the horizon!
I must say I enjoyed your human’s breakfast!! I hope your own gourmet meal was a success too.
Oh, yes, mine was reallly excellent. I helped cook of course.
You’re looking great LouLou! Glad to see that you are enjoying the summer.
Well, THEY think I should diet a bit…but I do NOT want to.
Yum-m-m-m!
Everything about France is tasty…
Noodle and crew
Especially the warm croissants in the morning….I get crumbs.
LouLou, your Mama’s photos of the moon and the food offset the monster ship. Sometimes “progress” isn’t what it’s cracked up to be and bigger is not always better.
A lovely new ship is in the harbour very old-fashioned and beautiful lines. SMALL.
Hm.Maybe these tourists-terrorists have lot’s of treats in their pockets, just for you, but now they can’t dock?
I’m sorry to be such a snob, but I am NOT interested in their treats. I just wish that THANG would disappear off the lovely horizon of our sea.
That is a big ship-yikes!
It is as big as anything you can imagine…office building? Trump Tower? It’s BEEEEG.
Ooh, that “fougasse” looks tasty, Loulou! I like to eat bits of bread on occasion Mom shares with me. Say, have you & your momma & papa always lived in France? My family would love to live there. I’m glad to hear that those giant floating things aren’t docking in your town, ’cause they might pollute the waters and bring germs!
Those giant hotels on floats are NOT coming to our little ville, no way, Noir Kitty! Living in France is just wonderful. What can I say, I’m French, but mama says it’s much cheaper and her markets are so good. I think you’d love it here.
