“Marcus Agrippa, son of Lucius, consul for the third time, built this.”

Well, tonight mama and papa went out for a little drink at the Pantheon, and there they were–the acrobats from Brazil, jumping and kicking and flipping all over the place and pretending to do kick-boxing and just missing each others’ ears by inches.  They are really fantastic, but these were the ones in yellow and the ones in red are better because they know how to do flips and cartwheels that are really amazing.

Here, they are moving very gently an old man who wanted to tumble with them.  I think he was around 90 so they had to move him over to the side.

These guys put on a show on cobblestones (!) that, if they miss, could mean a few broken bones or at least a sprain, but they are oblivious to the hard surfaces and fly through the air with the greatest of ease! (That’s from a song mama’s grandmother sang to her:  Oh, he floats through the air with the greatest of ease, This daring young man on the flying trapeze; His actions are graceful, all girls he does please, My love he has purloined away.)

Does anyone use the word “purloined” now? Hmm…

Does knowing these songs make mama an old fogy?  I hope not because she knows LOTS of old songs, haha.

Just don’t ever let anyone around her sing Doggy in the Window.  She goes berserk.

You know those songs you just can’t get off your mind and you REALLY want to?  Well, that’s one.  That and Shrimp Boats or maybe Que Sera, Sera.

Whatever they are…

But as soon as mama can get someone to record her, she is going to put The Loulou Song on Utube and just see how many people are humming it all day long after that.  It’s pretty dim, no lyrics, really, but the tune is catchy. For some reason, mama thinks everyone will be singing it whether they like it or not.

Hah. We’ll see about that.

Mama, please don’t sing that Loulou song again.  My ears are buzzing.
