First, we have to send love and hugs to Jan and all the Funny Farmers who have lost their beloved Merci. Coraggio, Jan.

HEY, I was practicing my half-bananiera, multiple-back-paw-twist with a laid out fulcrum and…er…I missed. Maybe leave it to the anthros in blue…
Well, mama is so tickled because the Brazilian gymnasts have returned to the streets of Rome and are turning somersaults and leaping into the air whilst turning flips and doing break dancing and jumping over high ropes (held often by two tourists) and in general, bringing a lot of energy and fun to the neighbourhood! It is called capoeira in Brazil–and there are many levels, as you will see on this video.
I think mama needs some photo help in order to get these guys in mid-air, but she sent me a few snaps of their general flips and leaps and turns.
And meanwhile, drums are beating and the men are singing chants in Portuguese and mama says you hold your breath each time any one of them prepares to run and do whatever he has planned to do in midair!
What I don’t understand is why are there no bats involved?
That must have been fun to see!
Hey, those guys ROCK. And they are acrobatting on ROCK–mama holds her breath sot hey don’t fall on that stone.
Yes, our condolences to Jan…..
Those men in blue seem most active, and very fit. I wonder how they would be with mice? Now as to those bats, are we talking about the flying edible kind? MOL
Toodle pips and purrs

Oh, Erin, you always have the most challenging questions! Of Mice and Men, haha.
SO very sad for Merci and family. We have too short a stay in this world, which is maybe why we give ALL our love without holding back. Humans can learn a lot from us, non, Loulou?
Wowed by the gymnasts – we have them here too, flipping around all over in Place Massena and playing music. Last night the Gipsys came roaming through the street with accordion and violin, singing and reminded us to open the windows wide and enjoy. It’s always a summer evening event in our street!
OH, how lovely! We open our windows and get merle-song, but at three in the morning, jeez!
At least one guy appears to have a bad knee but that isn’t stopping him.
Thank you, dear friends, for remembering Merci. She is really missed!
Oh, Jan, we all know and love your funny friends as if they were our own playmates. I’m sure the others miss her so much. We always know when one of us in the family is not there any longer.
Your Mama sure sees some interesting things. We were all very sad to hear about sweet Merci.
Yes, it is very sad. Merci was so lucky to have found Jan and the Funny Farmers. They had fun together for a long time.
