Merry Holidays, dear readers. Any reindeer in the neighborhood yet?
Here are a few holiday sparks to lift spirits. I guess the spark on this non-spark day is to see beauty in strange places.
Rome-lit up for shoppers a few years ago for Gay Pride
Well, today we are sharing a few pics of Rome during holidays. This is a doll fix-it shop and has been there forever. Any part of a doll you need is to be found here (no interior organs available) and this is the ancient window display!
The lovely, majestic church, Santa Maria sopra Minerva, in piazza dell Minerva. Underneath it is any old Roman ruin but no one wants to tear up the church to excavate…makes sense!
One of the creative windows one can find all over the shopping districts during holidays. Mama wants a dress like this but I told her birdies might wish to live in it, too! And you know what THEY do…
NOW WHO IS THIS GUY, MAMA? That’s about as Christmasy as a pumpkin! Why is he IN here? Oh, right, he just happened to be where you were taking pics? Yeah, yeah, I get it….pretty dumb pose, if you ask me (but no one did).
Okay, this is better. But wait a minute! I hope little kids don’t see this! Isn’t there only ONE Santa?
Whew, this Christmas stuff confuses the heck out of me. I’m off for a zzzzz….
I love seeing how other cities, towns celebrate the holidays. But those doll parts are a little creepy.
Well, it IS a strange store…so many dolls with things missing…but the doll-fixers are amazing and can do anything except make the dolls talk, haha.
I love all the shots but the kitties are my favorite shots. The doll shop was a bit creepy though.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect day and week, Loulou. My best to your mom. ♥
Merci, Sandee, and hello back to you from The Man, papa for me. Yes, the doll shop can be a bit…formidable, but boy, are they good fixers.
Loulou – those are very interesting photos for sure…..that dress in the window with the Christmas tree skirt would not be fun to wear and not just because of birdies….if you sat down I think you’d be in for a very RUDE surprise! HAHA Love the doll repair shop – my Mom says they had those in Germany when she was a little girl too. That ginger kitty is a cutie – I’m sure your Mama was FAITHFUL to you though and only took a photo – no petting! You look very comfy in that last photo….
Hugs, Teddy
Oh, to sit on a birdie! NO NO NO. Glad you liked our little tour! As they say on ‘Friends’ – we should do that again sometime. IN ROME.
Christmas things can be confusing sometimes Loulou!
You are tellin’ me….so glad it’s once a year.
That is a fun compilation of pics…for, about and just because…Christmas!
Reindeer?? Not here, but well, there are a lot of regular deer and I see them a lot, esp when we drive somewhere after dark…nearly hit some the other night, Yikes! They don’t have Rudolph noses to guide them, and for sure none of them have any education about roads and vehicles…the cars and trucks always win…sigh…in other words, deer are road hazards!
Oh, they were in Texas, too, and it’s sad how many literally bite the dust! But someone always too them to the meat lockers that dressed them for consumption so they did get recycled. But they are so pretty….
Nice photos. I feel bad for the poor kitty, he is probably homeless.
I have a doll with internal organs, it is stuffed. I got it to teach my great niece about what is inside of us. 🙂 XO
OH MY COD…only you, Ellen, could find something like that!!! Mama would have LOVED that as a child (probably now, too, haha, but just kidding). BRILLIANT for a child.
What a wonderful miscellany so those of us who have never seen Rome can share a bit of the magic and beauty ! Merci !
Oh, we are so glad you had a little tour. And we have MORE pics before the end of year so you can have yet another little tour.
Doll body parts…creepy!
Loulou, I take pics of random cats wherever I am; Da Boyz and Sweetie are quite used to it.
And I can spot cats when others don’t see them; it’s my special power.
Oh yeah, funny thing for your pawrents: I’ve read two books in a row where the tunnels/catacombs under Paris feature prominently. One book takes place during the reign of Napolean, the other was modern day. Just an interesting tidbit.
Oh, the cat-a combs…mama has been in them and one can get lost forever down there! They say…
Yes, mama sees kitties often, too, under cars, up on ledges. Wish all of them had warm homes as we do.
